Olympiacos Piraeus guard Isaiah Canaan is thriving in his second season with the club and third in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. At the midway point of the regular season, his averages of 13.2 points per game and 50% three-point shooting are both career-best marks. Among the reasons for his success are his comfort with life in Greece and with Coach Georgios Bartzokas’s system.
“You’ve just gotta branch out and be open to learning new things, experiencing new things and try not to compare it to being at home because it’s totally different,” Canaan explained of the thought process he adopted when he first crossed the Atlantic to play in Russia. He played parts of two seasons with UNICS Kazan, which is the club he made his EuroLeague debut with.
