Real was unable to find offensive momentum against Fenerbahce and had just 17 points at halftime, marking its worst offensive performance in any first half this century.
Telling numbers: Fenerbahce 'D' held Real to historic lows

After Sergio Llull chained together a couple of early three-pointers, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul trailed 2-8 on Tuesday against Real Madrid after 4 minutes of their Round 18 makeup game in Turkey.
But just when momentum seemed to be on the visitors' side, the hosts locked down on defense and amassed a 17-0 run over 6 minutes that turned the game upside down.

Real would go 8 minutes bridging the first and second quarters without scoring at all and eventually finished the first half with just 17 points, its worst first-half offensive output in 507 games this century.
"The players did an exceptional job," Fenerbahce head coach Sasa Djordjevic gushed afterward. "Their defense today was maybe the best this year and I really have to congratulate them. They made me a happy coach."
Indeed, Fenerbahce's final 66-51 victory would have been impressive in any circumstance, but against the league leaders it was eye-popping. Real's scoring total of 51 points was its second-lowest this century, after only a 67-49 road loss to Spirou Charleroi on November 17, 2010.
"We are busting our tails, we are really showing great character, and we didn't have a good offensive game," Fenerbahce's top scorer in the game, Marko Guduric, said. "But our defense was there for 40 minutes, and I'm super happy for that."
