

Jordan Floyd scored 14 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter as Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse pulled away to defeat Umana Reyer Venice 86-79 at the Ekinox on Tuesday night. With the win, Bourg strengthened its grip on first place by improving to 8-3 while dropping Reyer to 6-5. James Palmer added 17 points and Pierre Pelos tallied 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Derek Willis led Reyer with 23 points, Jayson Granger scored 12 and Jordan Parks 11 in defeat.
It was a game of runs early as Bourg scored the game’s first 7 points before Reyer roared with 14 unanswered points– half of which came from the hands of Amedeo Tessitori. Then Bourg scored 8 in a row. A triple by Andrea De Nicolao evened things at 24-24 after 10 minutes.
Pelos heated up as Bourg had the hotter start to the second quarter to lead 32-26. Floyd got going as the hosts extended the margin to 11. Michael Bramos's second three and a layup by Marco Spissu in the final seconds of the half drew Reyer within 43-38 at the break.
Reyer continued its excellent form from the end of the second quarter by scoring in the first 7 points of the second half to lead 43-45 on a Granger triple. Back-to-back threes by Spissu and Granger completed a 2-13 start to the half. Amidah Brimah and Palmer led the rally to regain control, 55-51. Free throws by Willis narrowed the gap to 60-57 through three quarters.
The visitors twice tied it early in the fourth quarter, but Bourg answered each time as Hugo Benitez and Jordan Floyd combined on all the points in a 7-0 run to lead 69-62. Floyd’s fastbreak slam made it a double-digit margin and Isiaha Mike’s three with 2 and a half minutes left made it 82-67 and all but sealed the outcome.
