Hamburg loses Osaro Rich to a broken wrist

Veolia Towers Hamburg guard Osaro Rich suffered a radius fracture during Tuesday’s BKT EuroCup game against Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem. The injury occurred just before halftime after a successful basket, when he landed awkwardly on his right arm. Rich was immediately taken to the hospital, where the fracture was confirmed. Surgery is scheduled soon, and Rich is expected to be sidelined for several months.
Rich had been off to a strong start with 10 points in 7 minutes before the injury. This is his third EuroCup campaign with Hamburg. It’s the second early season loss for the team after Niklas Wimberg went down with a broken finger in training camp.
