Two sporting giants will collide as Barcelona (17-13) welcomes Bayern (17-13) for a key confrontation between two of the four teams currently tied for fifth place.

Barca is on a roll with three consecutive victories, partly thanks to Dario Brizuela stepping up to boost an injury-hit backcourt with double-digit scoring in 10 of the last 11 games. Bayern was embarrassed last week in Baskonia and needs to show much improved defense, while also hoping that Andreas Obst can repeat the long-range shooting heroics that saw him set a new EuroLeague record with 11 triples when the teams met in November. That Bayern victory also saw a big contribution from Carsen Edwards with 25 points, and this crunch clash should be a shootout between the first and fourth highest-scoring teams in the league.
