Jerusalem adds small forward Justin Smith

Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem has signed small forward Justin Smith for the next two seasons. Smith (2.01 meters, 25 years old) arrives from fellow Israeli club Hapoel Holon. He averaged 16.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game in the Israeli League regular season. Smith ranked sixth in the league in PIR with 18.3, seventh in rebounds and ninth in scoring. He raised those numbers to 24.0 points on 69.0% shooting, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals against Jerusalem in the playoff quarterfinals. Smith tallied 15.2 points and 6.5 rebounds in the Basketball Champions League, too.
Smith played college basketball at Indiana University and the University of Arkansas. He began his professional career in the G-League. Smith spent one season with Raptors 905 and another with the Delaware Blue Coats, with which he won the G League championship in 2003. He will now make his EuroCup debut with Jerusalem.
