The first faceoff: 2015 vs. 2010. Two incredible squads. One spot in the next round.
Let the debate begin – and may the best team win!
2015
- Tyrese Rice, Khimki
- Petteri Koponen, Khimki
- Sammy Mejia, Banvit
- Derrick Brown, Lokomotiv
- Walter Tavares, Gran Canaria
2010
- Nando De Colo, Valencia
- Immanuel McElroy, ALBA
- Devin Smith, Panellinios
- Marko Banic, Bilbao
- Matt Nielsen, Valencia
With all due respect, I see this one as a no-brainer. The chemistry between teammates Rice and Koponen in the backcourt and the length of Brown and Tavares in the frontcourt is simply outstanding. Add to the Mejia's shot-making ability. Wow!
The 2010 team has a 23-year-old De Colo, who was already a force, but not quite the EuroLeague MVP he would become a few years later. Smith was also a few years away from becoming an All-EuroLeague candidate. McElroy was the best player on a very good ALBA team, but not a star.
In my eyes, the 2010 team just doesn’t have enough to compete with its 2015 counterparts. But what do you think?
