Mamadi Diakite joins Baskonia

Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz has confirmed the signing of Mamadi Diakite on a two-year deal.
Diakite (2.06 meters, 28 years old) will make his EuroLeague debut for Baskonia next season, having spent his entire career to date in the United States. During the 2024-25 campaign, he posted 13.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists for the Valley Suns – the Phoenix Suns' affiliate team – in 44 G League games.
The power forward spent four years at the University of Virginia, during which time he won the 2019 NCAA championship – the first national title in the school's history.
Diakite turned professional in 2020 and has played in the NBA for the Milwaukee Bucks (2020-21), Oklahoma City Thunder (2021-22), Cleveland Cavaliers (2022-23), San Antonio Spurs (2023-24) and New York Knicks (2023-24), as well as the Lakeland Magic (2020-21), Cleveland Charge (2022-23), Westchester Knicks (2023-24), Austin Spurs (2023-24) and Valley Suns (2024-25) in the G League.
