Belinelli's heroics lead Virtus to win over Fenerbahce, 92-88

Virtus Segafredo Bologna rounded a historic year in style by downing Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul 92-88 in the final Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game of 2022. Following this win, Virtus improved to 7-9 in the standings.
Marco Belinelli led the winners with 18 points, getting 14 in the fourth quarter. Mam Jaiteh got 14, Nico Mannion added 13, Kyle Weems had 12, while Toko Shengelia and Jordan Mickey each scored 11. Johnathan Motley led Fenerbahce with 26 points. Scottie Wilbekin and Nick Calathes each added 12, and Marko Guduric had 11 for the guests.

Jaiteh and Weems gave Virtus an early 9-4 lead. Wilbekin stepped up for Fenerbahce and Motley then gave his team its first lead, 14-15. Wilbekin and Nigel Hayes-Davis kept Fenerbahce in charge, 23-25, after 10 minutes. Motley single-handedly kept Fenerbahce ahead, 35-38. Virtus found a go-to guy in Mannion, who scored 11 points in less than 4 minutes to tie the game, 46-46, at halftime. Shengelia took over after the break, getting help from Mannion for a 59-56 Virtus lead. Devin Booker provided a highlight with a putback dunk, before DyShawn Pierre and Calathes each hit a triple to give the guests a 65-68 edge after 30 minutes. Belinelli had 12 points in 5 minutes, including two three-point plays and a wild three-pointer for an 86-76 score. Booker and Calathes got Fenerbahce within 88-86, but Alessandro Pajola and Belinelli stayed ice-cold from the foul line to make sure of the victory.
