Cedevita got 20+ points from three players in rallying on the road
Big second-half run carries Cedevita to 84-99 comeback win over Jerusalem



Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana rallied from 11 points down to remain perfect in Group A with an 84-99 victory over Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem. Cedevita took control of the game with a 2-24 run spanning the final two quarters.
DJ Stewart poured in a career-high 27 points, Aleksej Nikolic also registered a career best with 22 points, and Umoja Gibson added 21 points. While Cedevita moved to 2-0, Jerusalem fell to 1-1 with the loss.
Dymtro Skapintsev scored 15 points to pace five players in double figures for Jerusalem, which came into the game after losing an exhibition game 123-88 in New York against the Brooklyn Nets over the weekend. Jared Harper and Anthony Lamb both had 14 points.

Stewart started the game on fire with two three-pointers for eight of the first 10 points for Cedevita, which led 5-12 early on. Jerusalem’s star guard Harper hit two treys of his own to bring the team within 15-17. But Gibson heated up with nine of his 11 points and the guests were up 17-23. Lamb followed with six straight points for Jerusalem, which pulled ahead 27-25 before the score was tied 29-29 after 10 minutes.
Jerusalem needed nearly 2 minutes to score in the second quarter and four Stewart points helped extend the cushion to 30-38. Justin Smith scored four points to get the home side within 37-38 and then Jerusalem held Cedevita scoreless for the final 5:24 minutes. Skapintsev tallied nine points in a 16-0 finish to the first half as Jerusalem led 53-42 at the break.
Just like at the beginning of the game, Stewart started the second half hot with eight points in helping Cedevita get back into the game 57-55 with a 4-13 run in the first 5 minutes. Cassius Winston answered with four points at the other end, but then it was time for Nikolic to take over with nine points – including the triple to even the game at 66-66. And Cedevita led 66-72 after 30 minutes.
After hitting a three-pointer at the third quarter buzzer, Joseph Girard opened the final frame with two more triples and Cedevita was leading 66-78. Lamb temporarily stopped the bleeding, but Stewart and Thomas Kennedy combined for the next nine points and Cedevita led 68-87. Jerusalem was trying to make it a ball game and was only down 79-89 with more than 2 minutes to play. But Gibson buried back-to-back three-pointers to make it 81-95 with 94 seconds to go.
