Panionios Athens signs Tyler Wahl

Panionios Athens has bolstered its frontcourt with the signing of American forward Tyler Wahl, the club announced Tuesday. Wahl (2.02 meters, 24 years old) arrives from KK Zadar, where he completed a strong rookie campaign and helped the Croatian side capture the national championship.
In his debut professional season, Wahl averaged 10.4 points on 55.7% shooting, 5.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals in the ABA League. He was equally effective in the Croatian League, posting 10.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game in the regular season and raising the numbers to 12.9 points, 7.3 boards and 3.3 assists in the playoffs.
A product of the University of Wisconsin, Wahl played five seasons with the Badgers and became a fixture in the starting lineup, starting 121 of his 162 appearances. He averaged 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1 steal per game in NCAA competition, earning a reputation as a tough, two-way player with a high basketball IQ. Wahl now prepares for his BKT EuroCup debut with Panionios.
