Ulm again invests in rising star with Diego Garavaglia

ratiopharm Ulm, one of the premier European teams when it comes to developing young talent, is sticking to its concept by signing teenage swingman Diego Garavaglia, the club announced Monday.
Garavaglia (2.01 meters, 18 years old) arrives from EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and has signed a three-year deal.
"Diego takes responsibility both offensively and defensively, has a wide scoring repertoire and knows how to make his teammates better," said UIm sports director Thorsten Leibenath. "He is already capable of strengthening our professional team, and there is sufficient development potential for him to take the next steps in his career with us."
Garavaglia, who made five Italian League appearances with Milan over the past two seasons, has made noise for the past three years playing in the NextGen EuroLeague tournaments. He especially starred at the 2025 Next Gen Finals in Abu Dhabi, where Garavaglia averaged 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.2 steals.
As one of the best Italian players in youth categories in recent years, Garavaglia helped his country win silver medals at the U16 European Championship in 2023 and the U17 World Championship.
Garavaglia is now set to make his BKT EuroCup debut.
