Dubai reels in ABA League MVP McKinley Wright

Dubai Basketball has announced the signing of McKinley Wright, the 2024-25 ABA League MVP, on a two-year deal.
Wright (1.80 meters, 26 years old) spent the last two years with Buducnost VOLI Podgorica. He posted 10.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 18 BKT EuroCup games in 2024-25 as the Montenegrin side reached the last 16, while he averaged 12.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game in 37 ABA League appearances last season.
Prior to his two years with Buducnost, Wright played for the Minnesota Timberwolves (2021-22) and Dallas Mavericks (2022-23) in the NBA, as well as the Iowa Wolves (2021-22) and Texas Legends (2022-23) in the G League.
Wright is Dubai's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Dzanan Musa and Aleksa Avramovic.
