Ulm lands up-and-coming talent Mohamed Diakite

Another top-class prospect joined ratiopharm Ulm, as the club announced a three-year deal with forward Mohamed Diakite on Tuesday.
Diakite (2.08 meters, 19 years old) arrives from Saint Quentin Basketball, where he averaged 1.7 points in nine French League games last season. He also played for its U21 squad, averaging 16.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 13 games. Diakite has also played for Pole France Paris and PFYM INSEP Paris before joining Saint Quentin. He took part in the Adidas NextGen EuroLeague tournaments for three years with INSEP. In 2024, he averaged 2.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in four games at NextGen Paris. INSEP also played at the 2024 NextGen Finals in Berlin, in which Diakite averaged 7.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in four games. He helped the French U16 team win a bronze medal at the 2022 European Championships. "Immediately after getting to know the organization, management, and coaching staff, I felt this was the right place for me to develop as a player and as a person," Diakite said. "I can't wait to be part of the team, work with the other players, and experience the atmosphere at ratiopharm arena."
