Chachashvili is currently sidelined with a severe knee injury
Jerusalem, Gabriel Chachashvili together until 2028

Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem announced a new deal with big man Gabriel Chachashvili to keep him in its roster until the end of the 2027-28 season. Chachashvili (2.10 meters, 25 years old) averaged 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 17 EuroCup games with Jerusalem last season before suffering a torn ACL in an Israeli League game.
"In the upcoming season, Gabi will continue the rehabilitation process from his knee injury, and is expected to return to the court at the beginning of the 2026-2027 season," the club stated in the official announcement.
Chachashvili started his professional basketball career with GBA Spartak Prague of the Czech Republic, and also played for Hapoel Upeer Galilee Safed and Hapoel Galil Elyon of Israel, as well as for Brose Bamberg of Germany, before joining Jerusalem in 2023. Chachashvili has also been a member of the Israeli national team and helped its U20 squad win a gold medal at the 2018 European Championships.
"I thank Hapoel for their unwavering faith and support, even during a difficult period in my career. Being part of a club that does not judge you only by what you can give here and now, but sees the person behind the player and the long-term potential - it is a great privilege for me" Chachashvili said after the agreement. "I am committed to doing everything to come back better, stronger, and to give of myself for the club and for our amazing fans."
