Partizan NIS Belgrade kept its frontcourt force from last season, re-signing center Mathias Lessort for the upcoming season, the club announced Monday. Lessort (2.06 meters, 26 years old) joined Partizan in December of last season, and shined in 10 appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup with 13.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, including 2.9 on offensive glass, with and average PIR of 19.1. He also posted 10.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in the Adriatic League action.

The first part of last season, Lessort spent with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, and in five Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games with the club he played just 11:36 minutes, but still posted 7.4 points and 3.4 rebounds. Lessort has previously played with two other teams in the EuroLeague, making his debut with Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade in the 2017-18 campaign, and played with FC Bayern Munich in the 2019-20 season. Lessort is also a 2021 EuroCup champion with AS Monaco, and two-time All-EuroCup selection.
A product of the Elan Chalon youth system, he also played for Nanterre in France before heading to Zvezda. Lessort also played for Unicaja Malaga in Spain. As a member of the French national team, Lessort captured a bronze medal at the 2019 Basketball World Cup, too.
