We hope that this Cookies Policy helps you understand and feel more confident about our use of cookies and tracking technologies. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at data.protection.officer@euroleague.net.

We may change this Cookies Policy at any time. Please take a look at the top of this page to see when this Cookies Policy was last revised. WHAT IS A COOKIE?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server and only that server will be able to retrieve or read the contents of that cookie.

Each cookie is unique to your web browser and contains some anonymous information such as a unique identifier and the site name and some digits and numbers. They are widely used to make websites work in a better and more efficient way as they remember things you like and your preferences, and allow us to identify your computer and find out details about your last visit.

OUR USE OF COOKIES

When you interact with the Websites we sometimes receive or collect personal information about you.

The information collected by cookies does not personally identify you; it includes general information about your computer settings, your connection to the Internet e.g. operating system and platform, your device's Identifier for Advertisers, IP address, your browsing patterns and timings of browsing on the Websites and your location.

However, when you write to us or sign-up to enter a competition or apply for tickets to a Euroleague event, you might tell us who you are, how we can contact you and what you think about the Euroleague Basketball and its services. The information we collect may vary depending on upon which Websites service you are using. However, the way we protect your personal information is always within the terms of our Privacy Policy.

Most internet browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can change the settings of your browser to erase cookies or prevent automatic acceptance if you prefer, as explained in the section “How can you control cookies?” below.

The legal basis for the use of such cookies is your consent on the cookies banner.

WHAT COOKIES DO WE USE?

Below we list the different types of cookies we may use on the Websites. We may also use cookies and similar tools to relate your use of the Websites to personal information obtained about you. For instance, if you have shown interest in knowing more about the upcoming events, products or services, cookie and/or clickstream data about your activities on the Websites may allow us to limit the materials we provide you to what we think you will find interesting, based on your prior activities and preferences.

Technical cookies

Technical cookies (sometimes described as functional cookies) are necessary to browse our site and access the various products and services that are available. They are used to:

  • optimize the presentation of the website in line with your device’s display preferences (language used, screen resolution, operating system, etc.);
  • allow you to access personal areas (such as your user account or content that is reserved for you) on the basis of the information that you provided when creating your account;
  • remember some information relating to forms that you have filled in on our website;
  • compile statistics measuring visits to and use of our site;
  • implement certain security measures.

These cookies must not be deactivated. If they are, you will have problems accessing the site and its services.

Audience-measuring cookies

Audience-measuring cookies are issued by us and/or our technical service providers in order to measure the number of people accessing our various types of content.

These cookies are also used to identify any potential navigation problems and thus improve the website’s usability. These cookies produce only anonymized statistics and do not provide information on individual visitors.

Social media and partners cookies

Social media and partners cookies allow you to share our site’s content with other people or tell people what you think about content on the site. A number of sharing buttons are integrated into our site using third-party applications that could issue this type of cookie.

This is true, for example, of the 'Share to Facebook' and 'Share to Twitter' buttons which appear on news articles. The social network providing the button in question may be able to use that button application to identify you, even if you do not click on the relevant button while visiting our site. Indeed, that type of button application may allow the relevant social network to see your browsing activity on our site if your account with that social network is active on your device (i.e. an open session) while you are browsing our site.

We suggest that you consult the privacy policies of those social networks to see what browsing information acquired via such button applications is ultimately used for (as regards advertising, for example). Those privacy policies should allow you to indicate your wishes to the relevant social network in respect of cookies, notably by adjusting the settings on your user account.

Targeting Cookies

These cookies collect information about your browsing habits in order to make advertising relevant to you and your interests.

These cookies collect information about your browsing habits. This information is then used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. We will be responsible for the placing of these cookies but they can sometimes be placed by advertising networks with our permission. They remember which websites you have visited and this information can be shared with other organizations such as advertisers.

You may opt-out from receiving targeted advertisements from us by visiting the NAI website opt-out page at networkadvertising.org/choices or the DAA opt-out page at aboutads.info or, for EU users, the EDAA opt-out page at youronlinechoices.eu.

DO NOT TRACK (DNT) BROWSER SETTING

DNT is a feature offered by some browsers which, when enabled, sends a signal to websites to request that your browsing is not tracked, such as by third-party ad networks, social networks and analytic companies. Our Websites do not currently respond to DNI requests.

A uniform standard has not yet been adopted to determine how DNT requests should be interpreted and what actions should be taken by websites and third parties. Euroleague Basketball will continue to review DNT and other new technologies and may adopt a DNT standard once available.
