The new head of bench comes off a successful run with the Polish national team
Aris hands Igor Milicic the reins as head coach

Aris Thessaloniki Betsson announced on Sunday morning that Igor Milicic will be its next head coach. Milicic, 49, signed a deal for the rest of the season with an option for a second year. He most recently coached the Polish national team to the quarterfinals at EuroBasket 2025.
Milicic returns to Thessaloniki, where he spent a season as a player with Iraklis. Born in Croatia, he spent most of his playing career in his homeland and Poland. Milicic has spent the last decade as a head coach beginning with AZS Koszalin in Poland and followed by stints with Anwil Wloclawek and Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski in that country and a season each with Besiktas Istanbul in Turkiye and Napoli Basket in Italy. Milicic won two Polish League championships and one Polish Cup in five seasons with Anwil, another Polish League crown and a Polish Cup in two seasons with Stal Ostrow and the 2024 Italian Cup - the first major trophy in club history – in his lone season with Napoli.
He inherits an Aris side that started the EuroCup season with a pair of wins before dropping their last two games under previous head coach Bogdan Karaicic.
