George Papas joins forces with Panionios

Panionios Athens has added an experienced presence to its backcourt by signing George Papas for the 2025-26 season.
Papas (1.96 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Peristeri Athens, where he averaged 10.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in the Greek League last season. Papas made his professional debut with Olympiacos Piraeus during the 2022-23 season. He played two seasons for the Reds – and appeared in 4 EuroLeague games – before moving to Promitheas Patras late in the 2023-24 season.
Papas played college basketball at Monmouth University and was named to the All MAAC (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) First Team in 2022 and to the Second Team the season before. Born in the United States to a Greek family, Papas has played for the Greek national team.
