Slask Wroclaw bolstered its frontcourt with the addition of promising Polish forward Jakub Urbaniak, the club announced Thursday. Urbaniak signed a multi-year deal and returns to his native country after developing abroad in Spain and the Czech Republic.
Urbaniak (2.06 meters, 22 years old) arrives from Dreamland Gran Canaria, where he made his EuroCup debut last season, appearing in three games.
Born in Poland but raised in Malaga, Spain, Urbaniak came through the youth ranks at Unicaja Malaga before refining his game at the Get Better Academy in the Czech Republic. He returned to Poland in 2022 to play for Trefl Sopot and then joined Gran Canaria the following summer.
Urbaniak has also represented Poland at the U18 and U20 national team levels, and his signing signals Slask’s continued investment in emerging domestic talent. The club views him as a long-term asset with strong upside on both ends of the floor.
