Zalgiris Kaunas announced on Friday that center Laurynas Birutis is returning to the club on a two-year deal.

Birutis (2.13 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Spanish side Monbus Obradoiro, where he spent the past two seasons. He averaged 13.1 points on 61.4% shooting plus 4.8 rebounds for an average PIR of 15.0 in 23:58 minutes per game last season. He was 10th in the league in PIR. Birutis joined the Zalgiris youth setup in 2017 but only spent one season, 2018-19, with the senior squad. He played parts of three seasons with Zalgiris’s B team and was loaned out to Siauliai and BC Prienai. Birutis has also played for the Lithuanian national team at the junior and senior levels.
