Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul's injury woes will continue with the announcement that scoring guard Scottie Wilbekin will miss at least the next three Turkish Airlines EuroLeague rounds, starting with the team's key home showdown with Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday, due to a knee injury. Wilbekin was hurt in the team's home loss to AX Armani Exchange Milan on Tuesday. He will be re-evaluated in 14 days, meaning that he will also miss the double-round week coming up.
Wilbekin averages 11.1 points per game and leads Fenerbahce with 55 three-pointers made, which ties for eighth-best among all EuroLeague sharpshooters. He joins a pair of teammates, Dyshawn Pierre and Metecan Birsen, on the Fenerbahce injured list. Wilbekin had started 23 of his 25 games played this season, while Pierre did so in 15 of 22, leaving head coach Dimitris Itoudis to rely on his deep bench until perhaps the last game of the regular season. Fenerbahce (17-12) is clinging to fifth place at present despite having lost three of its last five games.
