Scoring ace Carsen Edwards finds new home in Bologna

The top scorer in the competition last season, Carsen Edwards has a new home after signing with Virtus Bologna on Friday.
Edwards (1.80 meters, 27 years old) comes off his best season as a professional with 20.4 points per game over 35 appearances in 2024-25, which led to his selection as a All-EuroLeague First Team member. After narrowly missing out on the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy by finishing second in scoring in the regular season, Edwards climbed atop the full-season charts by the end of the playoffs. He also contributed 3.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Edwards was 14th in the league with an average PIR of 16.7 and led all players with 2.9 three-pointers made per game.
After a standout college basketball career at Purdue University, Edwards began his professional career in the NBA with the Boston Celtics. He also played for the Detroit Pistons as well as for the Maine Red Claws and Salt Lake City Stars in the G League. Edwards led the G League in scoring with the Stars in 2021-22 with 26.7 points per game.
He made his EuroLeague debut with Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul the following season before joining Bayen in 2023. In his first season with Bayern, Edwards led the team to the 2024 German League and Cup double and was named MVP of the playoff finals.
