Shane Larkin's big fourth quarter propels Turkiye into EuroBasket semis

Shane Larkin came alive in the fourth quarter to ensure that Turkiye got past Poland 91-77 and into the semifinals at EuroBasket 2025 on Tuesday at Arena Riga in the Latvian capital. The Anadolu Efes Istanbul recorded 9 points and 3 assists in the final stanza as Turkiye held off a Poland rally, which chipped away at a 23-point third-quarter deficit to get within 8.
Just when Poland had closed the gap to 78-70, Larkin took charge with assists on back-to-back plays to his Efes teammates Sehmus Hazer and Ercan Osmani to help restore a double-digit lead from which Poland never recovered.
Larkin finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in a team-high 34 minutes. He was tied for second on Turkiye in scoring behind Alperen Sengun, who boasted a triple-double of 19 points, 12 boards and 10 assists. Hazer also scored 13 points and Kenan Sipahi of Bahcesehir College Istanbul chimed in with 11.
Turkiye was strong on the glass, outrebounding Poland 31-26 and scoring 18 second-chance points, which more than doubled Poland's 8. Mateusz Ponitka, also of Bahcesehir, tallied 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in defeat for Poland, while AS Monaco's Jordan Loyd also netted 19.
