The Spanish prospect returns home after stints in the G League and Australia
Real Madrid reloads by signing top prospect Izan Almansa

Real Madrid has signed Spanish forward Izan Almansa to a four-year contract, the club announced.
Almansa (2.08 meters, 20 years old) joins from the Perth Wildcats in the Australian NBL, where he posted 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 33 games with last season. He more recently played in the 2025 NBA Summer League with the Philadelphia 76ers.
A native of Murcia, Almansa returns to the club where he spent part of his youth career before launching a professional journey that has taken him across the United States and Australia. A product of UCAM Murcia and Real Madrid’s youth system, Almansa moved to the United States in 2021 to join the Overtime Elite Academy, followed by seasons with YNG Dreamerz and G League Ignite.
Almansa has starred for Spain’s youth national teams, earning MVP honors at the U17 World Cup (2022), U18 EuroBasket (2022), and U19 World Cup (2023) while taking home two gold and one silver medal in those events. He made his senior national team debut in November 2024 against Slovakia.
