The phrase 'from zero to hero' gets thrown around quite a bit nowadays, but it perfectly fitted Alec Peters in Olympiacos Piraeus’ big 82-66 win over EA7 Emporio Armani Milan on Friday night.
Peters scored a team-high 16 points, which is also his season high, in the victory. The big man reached this total by hitting 6-of-7 shots from the field and making his only free throw; from three-point range, he was 3-of-3.
“I feel good. I think the team feels good. It’s been a long time since our last game and I think the team had a good week of practice – everybody did. It was a good week. We showed that today,” Peters said in his post-game interview.
The 27-year-old American probably didn’t have high expectations after he had totaled just 2 points in the last three games, including scoring 0 points on 6 missed shots in nearly 26 minutes on the floor during a blowout of archrival Panathinaikos Athens in Round 16.
