The former OKC Thunder swingman will play in the EuroLeague for the first time
Andre Roberson joins ASVEL
LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne has completed the signing of Andre Roberson on a short-term deal following an injury to Edwin Jackson.
Roberson (2.01 meters, 32 years old) joins ASVEL from Cholet Basket, where he averaged 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals in five French League games. On November 3, he had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists as Cholet beat ASVEL 87-101 in the French League.
When he makes his first appearance for ASVEL, Roberson will make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut.
Many basketball fans will know Roberson for his playing with the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he spent seven years with the NBA franchise between 2013 and 2020, which included one year with the team's G League affiliate side in the 2013-14 season.
After leaving the Thunder, the swingman played for the Brooklyn Nets in the 2020-21 campaign, then featured for OKC's G League team in 2022-23.
Seeking a fresh challenge, Roberson joined Cholet in early September. Two months on, having shown that he still has a lot to offer on the court, ASVEL snapped him up. He will now have the chance to come up against the best of the best on the continent in the EuroLeague.
