FC Barcelona announced on Tuesday that Juan Nunez underwent an arthroscopic procedure to treat a rupture of the lateral meniscus of his right knee. The surgery was performed by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau at Barcelona Hospital under the supervision of the club's medical services. Nunez is expected to be sidelined for six months.
Nunez averaged 5.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 25 EuroLeague games this season, his first with the club. A product of the Real Madrid youth academy, Nunez won the NextGen EuroLeague in 2021 and played one season with Los Blancos' senior squad before heading to Germany and spending two seasons with ratiopharm Ulm. He joined Barcelona on a multi-year deal last summer.
