Facundo Campazzo moves to 10th on all-time assists list

With his fifth assist in Real Madrid’s 81-82 loss to Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens on Tuesday night, Facundo Campazzo moved into 10th place on the EuroLeague’s all-time assists list.
The Argentine playmaker reached the milestone with a pocket pass that led to an Alex Len dunk, surpassing Dimitris Diamantidis at the very arena where Diamantidis became a Panathinaikos legend. Campazzo now has 1,256 career assists, edging past Diamantidis, who finished with 1,255.
Campazzo’s next target is Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul guard Nando De Colo, who sits ninth on the list with 1,277 assists and counting.
With Campazzo entering the top 10, seven of the league’s all-time top 10 assist leaders are active players. Those players are Nick Calathes (first, 2,204), Kostas Sloukas (second, 2,021), Mike James (fourth, 1,704), Sergio Llull (sixth, 1,511), Thomas Heurtel (eighth, 1,408), along with De Colo and Campazzo.
The retired players in the top 10 are Sergio Rodriguez (third, 1,874), Vassilis Spanoulis (fifth, 1,607), and Milos Teodosic (seventh, 1,491).
