Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has bolstered its frontcourt by signing Kostas Antetokounmpo on Monday for the rest of the season. Antetokounmpo (2.08 meters, 25 years old) spent the 2021-22 season with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, where he averaged 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds across 26 appearances. He was third in the league in two-point accuracy (71.8%) and fourth in blocked shots per minute with a prorated average of 2.2 per 40 minutes.
At Fenerbahce, Antetokounmpo will reunite with Coach Dimitris Itoudis, who was also his coach on the Greek national team over the summer at EuroBasket 2022. Antetokounmpo helps Fenerbahce fill a frontcourt void, with Johnathan Motley currently sidelined and Nemanja Bjelica yet to play this season.
