Fenerbahce, Nigel Hayes-Davis agree on extension through 2027
Coming off his best season yet, Nigel Hayes-Davis has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him with Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul for three more seasons. Hayes-Davis forward (2.03 meters, 29 years old) averaged 13.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 37 games to lead Fenerbahce to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four. He made history in Round 32 against ALBA Berlin when he became the first player in competition history to score 50 points. He was named to the All-EuroLeague First Team and led Fenerbahce to the Turkish League and Cup double.
Hayes-Davis started his professional basketball career with the Westchester Kings of the G-League. He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings in the NBA, Raptors 905 of the G-League, Galatasaray Istanbul in Turkiye, Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania and FC Barcelona in Spain before joining Fenerbahce. He helped Zalgiris win back-to-back Lithuanian League and Cup doubles in 2020 and 2021 and also lifted the Spanish Cup trophy with Barca in 2022, reaching the EuroLeague Final Four for the first time in his career.
Before that, Hayes-Davis helped the University of Wisconsin reach back-to-back NCAA Tournament Final Fours in 2014 and 2015, including an appearance in the championship game in the second of those seasons. In 174 career EuroLeague games with Zalgiris, Barca and Fenerbahce, Hayes-Davis has amassed 1,563 points (9.0 ppg.) and 646 rebounds (3.7 rpg.).
