The 28-year-old has shined bright in his rookie EuroLeague season
Kendrick Nunn renews at Panathinaikos until 2026
Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens has confirmed that Kendrick Nunn, one of the stars of the 2024 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs, has renewed his contract at the club until the end of the 2025-26 season. As the Greens put it, 'under specific conditions, the player retains the right to use an NBA out clause.'
A very impactful debut campaign
Nunn (1.95 meters, 28 years old) joined Panathinaikos this season, making his EuroLeague debut against ALBA Berlin in Round 7. He is averaging 15.9 points on 41.0% three-pointers and 95.7% free throws, 2.6 assists, 3.0 assists and a PIR of 11.7. He ranks seventh in scoring and first in free-throw percentage.
The former Miami Heat guard did even better in the EuroLeague Playoffs, averaging 19.2 points on 51.6% three-pointers, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and a PIR of 16.6. He had 27 points in Game 4 to lead Panathinaikos to an 88-95 victory which sent the series back to Athens, then scored 26 points in Game 5 to help the Greens reach the Final Four for the first time since 2012.
Nunn's journey to Panathinaikos
Nunn finished his college career at Oakland University, averaging 26.1 points in 28 NCAA games. He played for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League and made his NBA debut with Miami, averaging 13.6 points in 82 games to make it to the 2019-10 NBA All-Rookie first team.
Before joining Panathinaikos, Nunn also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards in the NBA. He helped the USA national team to win respective gold medals at the 2011 U16 FIBA Americas Championship and the 2012 U17 World Cup. Nunn also helped Miami reach the NBA Finals in 2020.
