The talented forward returns to his hometown
Partizan brings in former ANGT MVP Mario Nakic
Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade has continued building its roster while investing in its future by signing forward Mario Nakic.
Nakic (2.03 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Igokea of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he averaged 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists last season in ABA League action.
This marks a return to his hometown for Nakic, who played on Partizan's junior teams. Moreover, his father Ivo is a legend as a player on the club's EuroLeague championship team from 1992.
Nakic left Belgrade as a talented teenager to join Real Madrid in 2015. He made his professional debut with Real in the 2017-18 season as a 16-year-old and made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Los Blancos in the 2019-20 campaign.
A year earlier, Nakic led U18 Real Madrid to the 2019 Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament championship as the tournament MVP. He averaged 17.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals in four games and was the star of the show as he set championship game records with 33 points and a performance index rating of 41.
After his time with Real, Nakic played a year with Ostende in Belgium, where he helped the team win the Belgian League and Cup double in 2021 and then spent a season with MoraBanc Andorra in the Spanish League. The last two years he has been with Igokea and now returns to Partizan, set to play his first full EuroLeague season.
