Panathinaikos Athens has signed big man Kostas Antetokounmpo to a two-year deal, as the Greens add size and athleticism to its frontcourt. Antetokounmpo (25 years old, 2.08 meters) arrives from Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, where he averaged 2.7 points in 14 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He started the 2022-23 season with the Windy City Bulls of the G League, averaging 11.7 points in 12 games.

Antetokounmpo spent the 2021-22 season with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, where he averaged 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds across 26 EuroLeague appearances. He was third in the league in two-point accuracy (71.8%) and fourth in blocked shots per minute, with a prorated average of 2.2 per 40 minutes. Prior to his EuroLeague debut with ASVEL, the Greece international played in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers, with which he won the 2020 NBA title. Antetokounmpo has also played for the Texas Legends and the South Bay Lakers of the G League, too. His brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, also played for Panathinaikos from 2017 to 2019, helping it win back-to-back Greek League titles and the 2019 Greek Cup crown.
