Milan rules out injured Delaney for rest of series
In this case, guard Malcolm Delaney is expected to be out for at least two weeks after suffering an abdominal injury in Game 2 on Thursday, in which Milan defeated Efes 73-66 to tie their series 1-1.
At the same time, Milan said that point guard Sergio Rodriguez, who left Thursday's game, as well, with an ankly injury, would be reevaluated before the teams meet up for Game 3 next Tuesday in Istanbul.
Both players were injured within a minute of each other in the fourth quarter of Game 3 after having combined for 20 points and 6 assists until that point.
Delaney started 26 of the 28 games he appeared in this season, with averages of 9.4 points and 2.8 assists.
Delaney's injury follows two days after Milan declared forward Nicolo Melli out of action for at least four weeks after he was injured in the next-to-last minute of Game 1, which was won by Efes.
