AX Armani Exchange Milan strengthened its backcourt by signing shooting guard Billy Baron to a two-year deal, the club announced on Tuesday. Baron (1.88 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Zenit St Petersburg, where he spent the past two season. He averaged 11.2 points in 23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, mostly off the bench. Baron helped Zenit win the VTB United League title for the first time in club history. In 88 career EuroLeague games, Baron has averaged 10.6 points while making 40.6% of his three-point shots and 85.1% of his free throw attempts.

Baron joined Zenit from Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, where he debuted in the EuroLeague in the 2019-20 campaign. He also led Zvezda to the 2019 Serbian League championship with a game-winning buzzer-beating layup in the title-clinching 75-76 win over Partizan NIS Belgrade. Baron also helped Zvezda win the Adriatic League. He started his career with Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius of Lithuania and also played for Spirou Charleroi of Belgium, UCAM Murcia of Spain and Eskisehir Basket of Turkey before joining Zvezda. Baron has been a member of the USA national team, with which he won a gold medal at the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup.
