## Wednesday, January 14

### Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade vs. Olympiacos Piraeus (19:30 CET)

The week’s action starts with one Wednesday game as rock-bottom Partizan (6-15) welcomes Olympiacos (12-8). The home team is still looking for its first win under coach Joan Penarroya and needs to find more offensive support for Duane Washington, the only double-digit scorer in Friday’s loss at Barcelona. Partizan will look for a strong home debut from Tonye Jekiri, and his presence in the paint could offer an added edge given that new Olympiacos center Tyrique Jones will not play against his former team, meaning fans will have to wait to see him add to a fearsome frontcourt already boasting the powerful rebounding of Nikola Milutinov, Sasha Vezenkov and Donta Hall. The Reds enjoyed another stellar night from Vezenkov – 25 points on 10-of-12 field-goal shooting – to ease past Bayern last week, but lost guard Monte Morris to injury.

### Dubai Basketball vs. Virtus Bologna (17:00 CET)

Two teams currently tied just outside the playoff positions will look to strengthen their challenge with Dubai (10-11) hosting Virtus (10-11). Dubai’s excellent home form continued with an impressive win over Fenerbahce in Round 21, sparked by big man Kenan Kamenjas enjoying a breakout performance with 20 points and 15 rebounds. He should receive plenty of support in the paint from fellow bigs Filip Petrusev and Mfiondu Kabengele, while Virtus – which has a 2-9 record on the road this season – will need another strong display from Nicola Akele after he delivered a season-best 10 points and 6 rebounds. Virtus won the first meeting between the teams 79-78 after Luca Vildoza struck a pair of late triples, and this could be an equally close encounter.

### Anadolu Efes Istanbul vs. Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (18:30 CET)

A negative streak must end as Efes (6-15) takes a five-game losing run into a clash with a Baskonia team (7-14) looking for a first road success. The visitors – whio will be facing former coach Pablo Laso for the first time – maintained their strong home form by outlasting ASVEL last week, and they control the head-to-head advantage after winning 86-75 in Round 8. Efes’s latest loss came with a second-half surrender at Milan, and the Turkish team needs better offensive execution after scoring less than 80 points in the last three games. Center Kai Jones gave an example of how to fight with 4 offensive rebounds and 3 blocked shots, and he faces a good frontcourt fight with Baskonia center Eugene Omuruyi, who had 8 rebounds in last week’s win.

### FC Bayern Munich vs. Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (19:30 CET)

Bayern (7-14) will look for a third straight home win to disrupt the top-four ambitions of Panathinaikos (13-8). One highlight will be the matchup between two of the league’s most explosive scorers as visiting superstar Kendrick Nunn (19.4 points per game) attempts to outshoot Andreas Obst, who has averaged 18.8 points in the last four games. The hosts will look to use the energy of Isiaha Mike (13 points and 7 rebounds in both of the last two games) to keep the Greens under pressure, but Panathinaikos can look to control the paint through in-form big man Richaun Holmes (15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds average in the last two games). The Greens have won their last six meetings with Bayern, but will have to work hard to make it seven straight.

### Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv vs. Zalgiris Kaunas (20:05 CET)

Maccabi (8-13) will attempt to arrest a three-game losing slide with a visit from a Zalgiris team (12-9) setting its sights on the top six. The visitors will hope to repeat the collective performance which delivered a commanding 32-point thrashing of Zvezda last week, featuring six different double-digit scorers. All of Maccabi’s recent losses came on the road, so the hosts will be happy to be back in Tel Aviv where Iffe Lundberg will take responsibility for leading his team at both ends of the floor. The hosts’ hopes would be boosted if top scorer Lonnie Walker can return from injury, while Zalgiris will look to control the backcourt through Sylvain Francisco, the league leader in assists who has dished at least 5 in 11 consecutive games.

### EA7 Emporio Armani Milan vs. Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade (20:30 CET)

A key matchup will see Milan (11-10) attempt to climb into the top 10 at the expense of fading Zvezda (11-10). The visitors need to rebuild their confidence after suffering a 32-point mauling at Zalgiris, whereas Milan enjoyed the opposite sensations after mounting a big second-half comeback against Efes. The key to that triumph – not for the first time this season – was the three-point shooting of Armoni Brooks (31 points on 7-of-12 from deep), and he will attempt to punish a Zvezda defense which has allowed 106, 102 and 99 points in three of the last four games. The Serbian team – which must win by 11 points or more to claim head-to-head advantage – will also hope to have Jordan Nwora back in form after he only scored 5 points in Kaunas last week.

### Paris Basketball vs. AS Monaco (20:45 CET)

A French League derby will see Paris (7-13) attempt to disrupt the top-four ambitions of red-hot Monaco (14-7). The visitors have won five straight and demonstrated outstanding team play to overcome Valencia last week, with five double-digit scorers led by the always-reliable Alpha Diallo. Paris grabbed a much-needed victory from its sole game last week, overcoming Efes on the road thanks to 27 points from the irrepressible Nadir Hifi, whose backcourt battle with Mike James will be a must-watch matchup. Former Monaco swingman Yakuba Ouattara will play a major part in attempting to disrupt his old team’s rhythm, and he faces a good battle against in-form Jaron Blossomgame. Monaco blitzed 125 points past Paris in December, so the hosts will have to find much better defensive solutions this week.

### Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs. Valencia Basket (18:45 CET)

Two high-fliers looking to get back on the winning track as Fenerbahce (13-7) faces Valencia (14-7). New home team signing Nando De Colo could make his debut against the club where his EuroLeague career started 15 years ago, and his arrival should lessen the backcourt burden on in-form Wade Baldwin, whose 21 points were not enough to take victory from Dubai last time out. Fenerbahce was heavily outrebounded in that game, so the reigning champ will look for more physicality – not helped by the loss of Bonzie Colson to injury – against a Valencia team which always loves to crash the glass through the likes of Jaime Pradilla and Matt Costello. The scoring threat of Kam Taylor, who netted 17 points when Valencia comfortably beat Fenerbahce in October, will be a major focus for the hosts' defense.

### LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne vs. Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv (20:00 CET)

League leader Hapoel (14-6) will attempt to hold onto that position by prevailing on a road trip to ASVEL (6-15). The visitors experienced contrasting injury fortunes in the backcourt during last week’s easy home win over Dubai, with Tyler Ennis’s season ended by injury but Vasilije Micic back in action to deliver 19 points. ASVEL is always competitive on its home floor but needs to be ready to face a Hapoel team versatile enough to play any kind of game, as it showed by leaning on 18 points from Dan Oturu to overcome ASVEL last month. Up against him, the hosts will look for another big performance from Bastien Vautier, who continued his recent improvement by recording 14 points and 6 rebounds in last week’s loss to Baskonia.

### Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona (20:45 CET)

A classic conclusion to the week takes place in the Spanish capital as Real Madrid (13-8) faces Barcelona (14-7). Both teams took a pair of victories from last week’s double round, and Barca big man Willy Hernangomez has hit top form with averages of 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds from those wins. That sets him up nicely for a big battle in the paint against the competition’s new all-time rebounding leader, Walter Tavares, who has posted 9.3 boards in the last four games. Real won at Barcelona in Round 9 behind 29 points from Trey Lyles, and boasts the league’s best home record (9-1). But Barca is one of the best long-range shooting teams in the competition (38.4% of three-pointers converted), so will hope the likes of Kevin Punter and Dario Brizuela can inspire a key road win.

Currently in the midst of a six-game losing skid in the EuroLeague, Partizan will likely be without Milton for an extended period.

"Partizan Mozzart Bet guard Shake Milton suffered a fractured hand during tonight’s game and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period," Partizan confirmed on Sunday night. "The medical staff will make a decision on the player’s course of treatment as soon as possible."

Stats Review: Armoni Brooks and EuroLeague’s Shot-Making Leaders 

Only four teams secured a pair of victories in the first double-round week of 2026, leading to yet another shakeup in the standings. While the teams from first through seventh place now have either 13 or 14 victories, this week may have been especially pivotal for [EA7 Emporio Armani Milan](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/ea7-emporio-armani-milan/mil/), which moved right on the edge of the playoff zone with double-digit wins over [Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/news/armoni-brooks-helps-milan-sting-panathinaikos-again/) and [Anadolu Efes Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/news/armoni-brooks-show-milans-refusal-to-lose-give-club-a-present-for-90th-anniversary/) after dropping its three previous games. 

Getting back above .500 following their recent missteps, Giuseppe Poeta’s team received a standout effort from [Armoni Brooks](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/armoni-brooks/013384/), who scored 55 points over only 31 shots across the team’s two wins. Scoring 42 points on jump shots alone, the 27-year-old guard showed off the shot-making versatility that has allowed him to nearly double his scoring average in the EuroLeague from last season.

The table above lists the top players in the EuroLeague in Synergy Shot Making on jump shots, among the 188 attempting over 2 per game, the number of points per attempt above expectation a player has scored.  Expectation, in this case, is defined in this case by Synergy Shot Quality, a metric that calculates the expected value of any given shot attempt based on a data-driven model that considers all the advanced tracking data Synergy Sports has collected on every field goal attempted in EuroLeague games over the last decade.

This group largely reflects a spectrum ranging from players making quality catch-and-shoot looks at an outrageous level to on-ball scorers managing to make pull-up jump shots at an exceptional clip despite a higher degree of difficulty. Brooks introduces another wrinkle to the space in between those poles. Not only does he frequently create his own shot out of pick-and-rolls and make set shots at an elite rate in spot-up situations, he takes another 2 3-point attempts per game running off screens, another each night going one-on-one, gets an occasional look in transition when defenses fall asleep, and even managed to make a pair of attempts rising up immediately after corralling offensive rebounds that took odd bounces to the arc.  He has epitomized what it means to be a versatile shooter at the EuroLeague level as well as any player in recent memory, has made shots with the consistency of a player filling a much smaller role, and guided Milan to the top of the SSM rankings.

There is no shortage of superlatives to throw around with this group at this point. [Arnas Butkevicius](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/arnas-butkevicius/002676/), [Derrick Alston Jr.](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/derrick-alston-jr--/014005/) and [Bonzie Colson](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/bonzie-colson/009783/) have made over half their catch-and-shoot three-point attempts, [Nemanja Nedovic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/nemanja-nedovic/000848/) has been a flame thrower off the dribble as AS Monaco’s sixth man is having the best three-point shooting season of his career at age 34, and both [Antonio Blakeney](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/antonio-blakeney/013402/) and [Kendrick Nunn](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/kendrick-nunn/012774/) have made shots at a tremendous level despite ranking 11th and 12th in attempts per game, respectively.

This has been the cream of the crop in terms of shot-making in a season where expectations for offensive output are as high as ever. With the standings as crowded as they are at the top, consistency is an imperative for shooters across the EuroLeague.

Zalgiris backcourt hit as Nigel Williams-Goss faces multi-week absence 

[Zalgiris Kaunas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/zalgiris-kaunas/zal/) has suffered a blow to its backcourt with the news that [Nigel Williams-Goss](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/nigel-williams-goss/007982/) will miss the next two-to-three weeks with a calf strain. The guard first felt discomfort during Friday’s victory over Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade and, after consulting with the team's doctors, decided not to continue playing. Further evaluation over the weekend diagnosed the strain.

Williams-Goss only played 4 and a half minutes of that game before departing with the injury. In the three games before that, he had averaged 17.0 points on 50% three-points shooting and 5.7 assists for a PIR of 19.0. This season, his sixth in the competition and first with Zalgiris, Williams-Goss has averaged a career-high 12.1 points in 14 appearances. He is a single missed free throw away from a 50-40-90 shooting average and has also dished 3.4 assists and collected 1.0 steal per game.

Vezenkov led Olympiacos to a 95-80 home victory over FC Bayern Munich with 25 points on 8-of-10 two-pointers, 2-of-2 three-pointers and 3-of-3 free throws, adding 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 5 fouls drawn for a PIR of 35, the highest in Round 21. It is the third MVP of the Round honor of the season for Vezenkov after achieving this award in Rounds 3 and 5. He is now second all-time in the MVP of the Round charts with 17 MVP of the Round awards, only trailing Shane Larkin of Anadolu Efes Istanbul (19) and ahead of Nando De Colo of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (16).

[Kenan Kamenjas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/kenan-kamenjas/008325/) of Dubai Basketball reached a PIR of 34 in his team's 92-81 home win over Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul. In Round 21, Kamenjas starred by amassing 20 points and 15 rebounds, hitting 6-of-10 two-point shots and 8-of-8 free throws. He also had 1 assist and drew 5 fouls.

[Armoni Brooks](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/armoni-brooks/013384/) of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan reached a PIR of 31 in his team's 87-74 home win over Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Brooks had 31 points on 3-of-4 two-pointers, 7-of-12 three-pointers and 3-of-3 free throws, 8 rebounds and 3 fouls drawn.

Armoni Brooks of Milan led all players in Round 21 with 31 points. Nadir Hifi of Paris Basketball remains the competition's top scorer with 20.4 points per game.

Kenan Kamenjas of Dubai Basketball was this round’s top rebounder with 15 boards. Nikola Milutinov of Olympiacos ranks first overall with 7.7 boards per night.

Mike James of AS Monaco dished 10 assists, more than any other player in Round 21. Sylvain Francisco of Zalgiris leads the overall standings with 7.0 assists per game.

As many as 12 different players had 3 steals this round. Alpha Diallo of Monaco is the 2025-26 EuroLeague steals leader with 1.7 per game.

Moses Wright of Zalgiris and Kai Jones of Efes each had a round-high 3 blocks. Walter Tavares of Real Madrid ranks first overall with 1.9 blocks per night.

There were two players who had a double-double in this round: Kamenjas (20 points, 15 rebounds) and James (14 points, 10 assists).

Colson suffered a knee injury during Thursday's 92-81 road loss against Dubai Basketball, and the test confirmed a strain of the patellar tendon of the right knee, the club confirmed.

This type of injury usually has players sidelined from three to six weeks, which means Colson is likely to be back some time in February for the defending EuroLeague champions.

Colson has been averaging 9.2 points on 51.8% three-point shooting this season, and pulling down 3.1 rebounds. A loss in Dubai snapped Fenerbahce's four-game winning streak as the team now sits in fifth place with a 13-7 record.

Overcoming some apparent tiredness, Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz defeated a stubborn LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne squad, 78-73, in Friday night action.

“We won against a tough team,” said Paolo Galbiati. “I am very happy and proud of the players.”

The [Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/baskonia-vitoria-gasteiz/bas/) head coach’s pride is hardly surprising. Overcoming some apparent tiredness, his team defeated a stubborn [LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/ldlc-asvel-villeurbanne/asv/) squad, 78-73, in Friday night action.

Both teams scrambled around for an advantage at the start of the game, with Baskonia eventually taking hold of the contest and boasting a 9-point advantage at halftime. However, the team talk Pierric Poupet gave at the break definitely landed, as his team came flying out of the gates, swarming Baskonia on defense and hurting them in transition to take a short-lived lead.

A tense, cagey fourth period played out, with neither side able to take the reins for a while. The game remained tied for an extended period, before Baskonia snatched the lead back with some crucial late buckets, securing the dub and improving its record to 8-13.

“We knew they were coming to play hard, like they always do,” Luwawu-Cabarrot shared. “They lost [Nando \[De Colo\]](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nando-de-colo/002100/) but they still have great talent and great players. We kind of lost it in the third quarter, but we stayed focused and got it back. Very glad we got this win.”

As mentioned, the presence of veteran De Colo was certainly missed by ASVEL. [His departure to Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul earlier this week](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/nando-de-colos-return-provides-experience-and-excellence-for-fenerbahce/) left a hole in ASVEL's offense and leadership that they’ll have to work hard to fill. Much like its opponents, the French team remains winless on the road in this year’s contest, moving its record to 6-15.

Things don’t get much easier for Pierric Poupet’s men next week, as they prepare to face table-topping Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv in a tough matchup next Friday. Baskonia, on the other hand, will travel to Turkiye to face Anadolu Efes Istanbul just one day prior.

Halfway through the first quarter against [FC Bayern Munich](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/fc-bayern-munich/mun/), [Sasha Vezenkov](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/sasha-vezenkov/003469/) had yet to connect with the basket as a slow start saw the [Olympiacos Piraeus](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/olympiacos-piraeus/oly/) forward miss both his first shots of the game.

The second was a floater that went short, with the guests leading 8-9. Yet, that would also be the last one he would fail to make on an extraordinary night at Peace and Friendship Stadium.

Vezenkov went on to score all his next 10 field-goal attempts, finishing the game on a team-high 25 points.

Two straight victories under new head coach Svetislav Pesic helped Bayern enter the game with confidence, and it started strong in Piraeus by netting 47 first-half points as Olympiacos led by just two points at halftime.

After ending the first half on a game-high 14 points, Vezenkov caught fire with seven points in a space of three minutes in the third quarter to open a 65-54 lead. Yet, Bayern fought back and went on a 2-9 surge that brought them within 85-78 with 02:22 left on the clock.

Vezenkov came in to replace [Alec Peters](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/alec-peters/008829/), with the former finishing inside after a dish from [Kostas Papanikolaou](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kostas-papanikolaou/001255/) to open a 10-2 run as Olympiacos killed the game off. Averaging 19.6 points over his last eight games, the Bulgaria international is pulling off another MVP-caliber season.

“We had three very demanding games on the road, we managed to win the two of them and we came back at home after so long and we had a must-win game in front of us,” Vezenkov told EuroLeague TV. “Bayern changed their coach, they had two wins in a row. We didn’t approach the game as we wanted in the first half. We received 47 points, but at the end of the day we took the W and we look forward.”

The turning point came in the third quarter, with Olympiacos holding Bayern to just 14 points and opening a 70-61 lead heading into the fourth.

The hosts forced their opponent to commit as many as 21 turnovers, and the 10 steals they recorded allowed them to hit in transition with easy buckets. They also dominated the boards by outrebounding Bayern 35-23, with their 14 offensive rebounds leading to 29 second-chance points. Meanwhile, staying true to its philosophy, Olympiacos circulated the ball well in yet another game, ending the duel with 28 assists.

“It was very important for us to win this game,” head coach Georgios Bartzokas said in the post-game press conference. “And as you probably saw it wasn’t easy at all. We had to increase our intensity on defense in the second half because in the first we allowed 78% for twos and 46% for threes. There is no team in the EuroLeague without talent, without a game plan, without good coaching. The second half was way better for us defensively. We had lots of deflections, we forced them to make 21 turnovers and at the same time we had 28 assists.”

Having celebrated its first home victory of 2026, eighth-placed Olympiacos will look to go on a winning streak that would allow it to climb up the standings in pursuit of home-court advantage. And with Vezenkov being in such spectacular form, the Reds should have nothing to fear moving forward.
