Dubai Basketball has completed the signing of Bruno Caboclo, with the Brazilian forward committing to a deal that runs through the end of this season.

[Dubai Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/dubai-basketball/dub/) has completed the signing of [Bruno Caboclo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/bruno-caboclo/012096/), with the Brazilian forward committing to a deal that runs through the end of this season.

Caboclo, 30, arrives from [Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/hapoel-ibi-tel-aviv/hta/). The 2.08-meter big man has not appeared in the EuroLeague this season due to injury, but he was a key contributor during Hapoel’s EuroCup title run last year. He featured in all 23 BKT EuroCup games, averaging 7.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest.

When Caboclo makes his debut for Dubai, it will mark his first EuroLeague appearance since the 2023-24 season with [Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/partizan-mozzart-bet-belgrade/par/). During that campaign, he averaged 9.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

Caboclo began his professional career with Pinheiros in Brazil in 2013-14 before spending the next seven seasons moving between the NBA and the G League. His NBA stops included the Toronto Raptors (2014-18), Sacramento Kings (2017-18), Memphis Grizzlies (2019-20) and Houston Rockets (2020-21), while he also suited up in the G League for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Raptors 905, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Memphis Hustle.

He made the move to Europe midway through the 2020-21 season with Limoges, then returned to Brazil to play for Sao Paulo in 2021-22. Caboclo opened the 2022-23 campaign with the Mexico City Capitanes before joining [ratiopharm ulm](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/teams/ratiopharm-ulm/ulm/), where he made his EuroCup debut and helped deliver a historic German League title.

That success earned him a move to Partizan, and in August 2024 he joined Hapoel Tel Aviv, where he was part of a EuroCup-winning roster. Now in Dubai, Caboclo will be aiming to add another chapter to a career that has already spanned three continents.

The [Olympiacos Piraeus](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/olympiacos-piraeus/oly/) forward bagged 25 points for the second game in a row, as the Reds crushed [Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/partizan-mozzart-bet-belgrade/par/) 66-104 on Wednesday evening.

The 30-year-old did so by shooting 9-for-12 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in just over 28 minutes. Vezenkov has now scored at least 24 points in each of his last four games. In that stretch, he has gone a spectacular 25-for-33 from inside the arc and 10-for-17 from deep while making all 18 of his free-throw attempts.

“Sasha is Sasha,” Olympiacos head coach Georgios Bartzokas said in the post-game press conference. “You can’t say a lot of things. He doesn’t want to dribble the ball, but he moves extremely well away from the ball. He’s a great shooter, very good rebounder. He has this feeling for the game, which is a pure talent. He just needs the system around him and this ball movement to make him the player that he is right now.”

Indeed, Olympiacos has managed to bounce back after a slow start to the season with convincing performances to kick off 2026 in style. The Reds have done so by playing their signature free-flowing basketball that has led to 21, 19, 28 and 25 assists respectively in their last four duels.

Having won five of its last six games Olympiacos is currently one of the hottest teams in EuroLeague, and [Thomas Walkup](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/thomas-walkup/008855/) revealed after Wednesday’s win that it took a team meeting to flip the switch in Piraeus.

“About a month ago, we had a serious team meeting and we said, ‘Guys if we want to achieve something, we’ve got to be better than this’. Practice better habits,” Walkup noted. “Since then, we’ve been doing that and I think it’s very obvious with our play.”

The Olympiacos guard drained all his 4 of his three-point attempts to become one of the five Olympiacos players to end the game on 12 points along with [Tyler Dorsey](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tyler-dorsey/009849/), [Alec Peters](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/alec-peters/008829/), [Nikola Milutinov](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nikola-milutinov/003941/) and [Donta Hall](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/donta-hall/011196/). More importantly for Bartzokas, all 11 players who stepped on the floor recorded at least 1 assist, as Walkup paced his team with 7.

“We were really serious for 40 minutes,” Bartzokas added. “Especially the second and the third quarter were really good for us, sharing the ball and having lots of assists. Each player who played the game had at least 1 assist and some of them a lot. Whenever we move the ball, we have a lot of players to score.”

Olympiacos held Partizan to just 13 points in each of the two aforementioned quarters, opening a double-digit lead that it maintained throughout the game. The guests outscored Partizan in each of the four quarters and registered their highest-scoring road victory this season.

It was also Olympiacos’s second-biggest road win in club history, as well as its largest triumph away from home over the last 25 years. For the record, its biggest ever victory on the road was a 53-100 thrashing of Ovarense Aerosoles back in 2000.

Records and milestones aside, this comfortable win over Partizan offers Olympiacos the opportunity to head into the upcoming double-round week with its confidence sky-high. And with Vezenkov pulling off displays like Wednesday’s, the Reds will look to put together a winning streak that will allow them to further climb up the standings.

The French guard appeared in 357 EuroLeague games and won two championships during a career that spanned five clubs: [Cholet Basket](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/cholet-basket/cho/) (2010–11), [Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/baskonia-vitoria-gasteiz/bas/) (2012–16), [Brose Bamberg](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/bamberger-basketball-gmbh/bam/) (2016–17), [Real Madrid](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/real-madrid/mad/) (2017–24) and [EA7 Emporio Armani Milan](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/ea7-emporio-armani-milan/mil/) (2024–25).

### Fabien Causeur confirms his retirement

After 20 years on the court, the time has come for me to close an incredible chapter of my life.

Basketball has given me everything: emotions in every single game, teammates who have all taught me something, coaches who pushed me to become better at every practice, and memories that will stay with me forever.

I would like to thank everyone who crossed my path, and reserve a few special words for those who have held a unique place in my life throughout these years:

Mom and Dad, thank you for passing on your love for this incredible sport and for teaching me values that I have tried to live by to this day. 

My sisters, Nolwenn and Laurie, as well as my closest friends Rudy, Yannick, Vince, Romain, and later Daniel — thank you for standing by me and supporting me all these years, despite the distance. 

To my agents, Nicolas and Stefano, we made a great team for two decades. Thank you for your patience and your invaluable advice. 

Lucia, I’ll end with you, because you have been — and still are — the most important person in my life and my career. He played for five EuroLeague teams across 14 seasons

Saras Jasikevicius, the coach who delivered Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul’s second EuroLeague title, has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club.

Now in his third season on Fenerbahce’s bench, the Lithuanian play-caller has compiled a 58-30 EuroLeague record since taking over in mid-December 2023.

The highlight of that stretch came in 2025, when Jasikevicius guided Fenerbahce to the EuroLeague title. Entering the playoffs as the No. 2 seed, Fenerbahce swept Paris Basketball in the quarterfinals, eliminated Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens in the semifinals at the Final Four and defeated AS Monaco in the championship game.

Jasikevicius was named the 2024-25 EuroLeague Coach of the Year – the first time he has won the award – which was announced prior to the start of the playoffs.

Fenerbahce has reached the Final Four in each of Jasikevicius’s first two seasons in charge, reinforcing the 49-year-old’s reputation as a specialist at advancing to the business end of the competition. He previously led Zalgiris Kaunas to the Final Four in 2018 and Barcelona to three straight appearances from 2021 to 2023. As such, Jasikevicius is the first coach in EuroLeague history to reach five consecutive Final Fours (2021-25).

With Fenerbahce sitting fifth in the standings at 13-7 heading into Round 21 – with a game in hand – Jasikevicius will again fancy his chances of a deep run, this time with the Final Four set for Athens. It is a familiar setting for him, as he won one of his four EuroLeague titles there as a player with Panathinaikos in 2009.

A member of the EuroLeague All-25 Team and the fourth person to win the competition as both a player and a coach, Jasikevicius lifted the trophy on the court with Barcelona (2003), Maccabi Tel Aviv (2004, 2005) and Panathinaikos (2009). Now, having committed his future to Fenerbahce, he will look to add further silverware from the sideline.

The 32-year-old joined Virtus in May 2025 and was part of the team that won the *Scudetto* last season.

Fantasy tips, Round 22: Five players ready to shine

Here comes Round 22 with a lot of exciting games and many interesting opportunities in the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge. Some players switched teams and immediately had bigger roles, others returned from injury to perform better than ever and a certain superstar has been rock-solid, night in and night out. Before I give you my recommendations, I will review my picks from last week.

My first pick last week was Mbaye Ndiaye of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. He had an average score of 14.0 and earned 0.4 credits, so I am calling it a win. On the other hand, Tarik Biberovic of Fenerbahce underperformed and lost 0.4 credits. Jared Butler of Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade had a negative score of -4 against Zalgiris Kaunas, so that is not exactly a win. Same goes for Derrick Alston Jr of Virtus Bologna, who had a PIR of -5 against Panathinaikos. Both Alston and Butler played well in Round 20, but it was a double-round week, so no excuses. Finally. Kendrick Nunn of Panathinaikos lost 0.3 credits. Not the best week of recommendations.

Come back! Don't go away! Give me a chance, I was doing well for several weeks! Here is what I suggest before Round 22. If it goes wrong, I will be sent to the fantasy tips freezer for several weeks, I promise. By the way, good luck to everyone playing the Trophy Cup elimination rounds... unless you play against me, of course.  In any case, if I play in Round 22 the way I recommended in Rounds 20-21, my opponent should be in the next round. Easily.

EuroLeague Fantasy tips, Round 22

### Wade Baldwin, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (14.3 credits)

To be successful in this game, you need star potential and consistency, so when you can have both, you have to go for it. [Wade Baldwin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/wade-baldwin-iv/009863/) has had a PIR of at least 26 in each of the last three games, in which he's averaged 20.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists. Baldwin is confident and talented, which is a great combination!

 

### Richaun Holmes, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (11.1 credits)

There are a lot of reasons to cheer for [Richaun Holmes](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/richaun-holmes/014011/) as much as his parents do - well, you can try, but it will be hard, check them out on X. Holmes is seeing significant playing time and making the most out of it: 18.0 fantasy points in Round 20, 26.4 in Round 21. Holmes is in great momentum right now.

### Armoni Brooks, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan (10.9 credits)

What a way to celebrate Milan's 90th anniversary! [Armoni Brooks](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/armoni-brooks/013384/) singlehandedly won the game against Efes in Round 21 with an outstanding fourth quarter. He had 35.2 fantasy points and Brooks was equally solid in Round 20 with 30.8 points. In two games, he averaged 27.5 points on 12-of-21 three-point shooting!

 

### Andreas Obst, FC Bayern Munich (9.3 credits)

It is a no-brainer. [Andreas Obst](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/andreas-obst/004508/) is the type of player who can put together several great individual performances when he is confident and right now, his confidence is through the roof. He had 41.8 fantasy points against Baskonia and followed that up with 17.0 points against difficult Olympiacos. A big bargain, a great opportunity!

 

### Saben Lee, Anadolu Efes Istanbul (6.6 credits)

[Saben Lee](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/saben-lee/013389/) came to Efes with a big role and is playing a lot of minutes right away. He definitely delivered in last week's double-round, getting 17 points and 6 assists against Paris and following that up with 19 points against Milan. He had an average PIR of 20.5, and all for just 6.6 credits! Buy him NOW!

## Wednesday, January 14

### Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade vs. Olympiacos Piraeus (19:30 CET)

The week’s action starts with one Wednesday game as rock-bottom Partizan (6-15) welcomes Olympiacos (12-8). The home team is still looking for its first win under coach Joan Penarroya and needs to find more offensive support for Duane Washington, the only double-digit scorer in Friday’s loss at Barcelona. Partizan will look for a strong home debut from Tonye Jekiri, and his presence in the paint could offer an added edge given that new Olympiacos center Tyrique Jones will not play against his former team, meaning fans will have to wait to see him add to a fearsome frontcourt already boasting the powerful rebounding of Nikola Milutinov, Sasha Vezenkov and Donta Hall. The Reds enjoyed another stellar night from Vezenkov – 25 points on 10-of-12 field-goal shooting – to ease past Bayern last week, but lost guard Monte Morris to injury.

## Thursday, January 15

### Dubai Basketball vs. Virtus Bologna (17:00 CET)

Two teams currently tied just outside the playoff positions will look to strengthen their challenge with Dubai (10-11) hosting Virtus (10-11). Dubai’s excellent home form continued with an impressive win over Fenerbahce in Round 21, sparked by big man Kenan Kamenjas enjoying a breakout performance with 20 points and 15 rebounds. He should receive plenty of support in the paint from fellow bigs Filip Petrusev and Mfiondu Kabengele, while Virtus – which has a 2-9 record on the road this season – will need another strong display from Nicola Akele after he delivered a season-best 10 points and 6 rebounds. Virtus won the first meeting between the teams 79-78 after Luca Vildoza struck a pair of late triples, and this could be an equally close encounter.

### Anadolu Efes Istanbul vs. Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (18:30 CET)

A negative streak must end as Efes (6-15) takes a five-game losing run into a clash with a Baskonia team (7-14) looking for a first road success. The visitors – whio will be facing former coach Pablo Laso for the first time – maintained their strong home form by outlasting ASVEL last week, and they control the head-to-head advantage after winning 86-75 in Round 8. Efes’s latest loss came with a second-half surrender at Milan, and the Turkish team needs better offensive execution after scoring less than 80 points in the last three games. Center Kai Jones gave an example of how to fight with 4 offensive rebounds and 3 blocked shots, and he faces a good frontcourt fight with Baskonia center Eugene Omuruyi, who had 8 rebounds in last week’s win.

### FC Bayern Munich vs. Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (19:30 CET)

Bayern (7-14) will look for a third straight home win to disrupt the top-four ambitions of Panathinaikos (13-8). One highlight will be the matchup between two of the league’s most explosive scorers as visiting superstar Kendrick Nunn (19.4 points per game) attempts to outshoot Andreas Obst, who has averaged 18.8 points in the last four games. The hosts will look to use the energy of Isiaha Mike (13 points and 7 rebounds in both of the last two games) to keep the Greens under pressure, but Panathinaikos can look to control the paint through in-form big man Richaun Holmes (15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds average in the last two games). The Greens have won their last six meetings with Bayern, but will have to work hard to make it seven straight.

### Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv vs. Zalgiris Kaunas (20:05 CET)

Maccabi (8-13) will attempt to arrest a three-game losing slide with a visit from a Zalgiris team (12-9) setting its sights on the top six. The visitors will hope to repeat the collective performance which delivered a commanding 32-point thrashing of Zvezda last week, featuring six different double-digit scorers. All of Maccabi’s recent losses came on the road, so the hosts will be happy to be back in Tel Aviv where Iffe Lundberg will take responsibility for leading his team at both ends of the floor. The hosts’ hopes would be boosted if top scorer Lonnie Walker can return from injury, while Zalgiris will look to control the backcourt through Sylvain Francisco, the league leader in assists who has dished at least 5 in 11 consecutive games.

### EA7 Emporio Armani Milan vs. Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade (20:30 CET)

A key matchup will see Milan (11-10) attempt to climb into the top 10 at the expense of fading Zvezda (11-10). The visitors need to rebuild their confidence after suffering a 32-point mauling at Zalgiris, whereas Milan enjoyed the opposite sensations after mounting a big second-half comeback against Efes. The key to that triumph – not for the first time this season – was the three-point shooting of Armoni Brooks (31 points on 7-of-12 from deep), and he will attempt to punish a Zvezda defense which has allowed 106, 102 and 99 points in three of the last four games. The Serbian team – which must win by 11 points or more to claim head-to-head advantage – will also hope to have Jordan Nwora back in form after he only scored 5 points in Kaunas last week.

### Paris Basketball vs. AS Monaco (20:45 CET)

A French League derby will see Paris (7-13) attempt to disrupt the top-four ambitions of red-hot Monaco (14-7). The visitors have won five straight and demonstrated outstanding team play to overcome Valencia last week, with five double-digit scorers led by the always-reliable Alpha Diallo. Paris grabbed a much-needed victory from its sole game last week, overcoming Efes on the road thanks to 27 points from the irrepressible Nadir Hifi, whose backcourt battle with Mike James will be a must-watch matchup. Former Monaco swingman Yakuba Ouattara will play a major part in attempting to disrupt his old team’s rhythm, and he faces a good battle against in-form Jaron Blossomgame. Monaco blitzed 125 points past Paris in December, so the hosts will have to find much better defensive solutions this week.

## Friday, January 16

### Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs. Valencia Basket (18:45 CET)

Two high-fliers looking to get back on the winning track as Fenerbahce (13-7) faces Valencia (14-7). New home team signing Nando De Colo could make his debut against the club where his EuroLeague career started 15 years ago, and his arrival should lessen the backcourt burden on in-form Wade Baldwin, whose 21 points were not enough to take victory from Dubai last time out. Fenerbahce was heavily outrebounded in that game, so the reigning champ will look for more physicality – not helped by the loss of Bonzie Colson to injury – against a Valencia team which always loves to crash the glass through the likes of Jaime Pradilla and Matt Costello. The scoring threat of Kam Taylor, who netted 17 points when Valencia comfortably beat Fenerbahce in October, will be a major focus for the hosts' defense.

### LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne vs. Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv (20:00 CET)

League leader Hapoel (14-6) will attempt to hold onto that position by prevailing on a road trip to ASVEL (6-15). The visitors experienced contrasting injury fortunes in the backcourt during last week’s easy home win over Dubai, with Tyler Ennis’s season ended by injury but Vasilije Micic back in action to deliver 19 points. ASVEL is always competitive on its home floor but needs to be ready to face a Hapoel team versatile enough to play any kind of game, as it showed by leaning on 18 points from Dan Oturu to overcome ASVEL last month. Up against him, the hosts will look for another big performance from Bastien Vautier, who continued his recent improvement by recording 14 points and 6 rebounds in last week’s loss to Baskonia.

### Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona (20:45 CET)

A classic conclusion to the week takes place in the Spanish capital as Real Madrid (13-8) faces Barcelona (14-7). Both teams took a pair of victories from last week’s double round, and Barca big man Willy Hernangomez has hit top form with averages of 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds from those wins. That sets him up nicely for a big battle in the paint against the competition’s new all-time rebounding leader, Walter Tavares, who has posted 9.3 boards in the last four games. Real won at Barcelona in Round 9 behind 29 points from Trey Lyles, and boasts the league’s best home record (9-1).
