Zalgiris (7-4) will look to protect its position in the playoff places with a visit from struggling Baskonia (4-7), which is targeting a first road win. Although Zalgiris's prime strength is disciplined defense, recent addition [Lonnie Walker](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/lonnie-walker-iv/013403/) is getting better with every game and 19 points from [Deividas Sirvydis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/deividas-sirvydis/007029/) in last week's win over Panathinaikos showed that he is also a force to be reckoned with. Pablo Laso's men have dropped to five straight losses due to a misfiring offense which has scored less than 70 points in three of those games, and would love to see star guard [Markus Howard](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/markus-howard/011948/) start to show his undoubted class after going scoreless through Rounds 9 and 10 before netting 12 points last time out.

### ALBA Berlin vs. Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (20:00 CET)

Two teams in a rut will battle it out for a much-needed victory as ALBA (2-9) welcomes Maccabi (3-8). The German team must fix a leaky defense which has allowed 98 and 115 points in the last two games, but hopes fast-rising swingman [Gabriele Procida](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/gabriele-procida/008384/) can maintain his hot streak after scoring in double digits for five consecutive games. Maccabi has lost four games in a row despite guard [Rokas Jokubaitis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/rokas-jokubaitis/007519/) driving the team with 9.9 points and 5.5 assists per game, and this meeting between the worst and third-worst defenses in the league (respectively allowing 90.5 and 87.1 points per game) could be settled by the question of which team can get some stops.

### Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade vs. Olympiacos Piraeus (20:30 CET)

Boosted by victory in last week's Belgrade derby, Partizan (3-8) will look to build more momentum with a tough test against high-flying Olympiacos (8-3), which is aiming for a seventh straight win. The increasingly influential [Carlik Jones](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/carlik-jones/013369/) will again look to lead Partizan after masterminding the win over Zvezda with 21 points, but repeating that feat against the outstanding defense of [Thomas Walkup](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/thomas-walkup/008855/) will not be easy. The Reds are firing on all cylinders and even the absence of [Sasha Vezenkov](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/sasha-vezenkov/003469/) didn’t matter in last week’s win over Baskonia, as his replacement [Alec Peters](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/alec-peters/008829/) stepped up by scoring 12 points without a miss from two-point territory. Olympiacos dishes more assists than any other team (21.6 per game), so disrupting that rhythm will be key for Partizan.

### Paris Basketball vs. Virtus Segafredo Bologna (20:30 CET)

Unstoppable Paris (8-3) and the incredible [TJ Shorts](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/tj-shorts/012608/) will aim to make it eight wins in a row with a visit from lowly Virtus (2-9). The visiting team, which has lost three straight, will look to contain Paris's fast-paced style through the physical presence in the paint of [Toko Shengelia](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tornike-shengelia/001133/) and [Ante Zizic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/ante-zizic/004554/), who combined for 41 points in last week's narrow loss to Fenerbahce. But they will be countered by one of the home team's many threats, versatile forward [Mikael Jantunen](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/mikael-jantunen/012613/), who averages 5.3 rebounds per game and also showed his deep threat with 3 triples in last week's win at Efes. Virtus is the worst rebounding team in the league (31.0 per game) so needs to improve that stat to avoid giving more possessions to Paris’s explosive offense.

### FC Barcelona vs. Real Madrid (20:45 CET)

The world's greatest sporting rivalry will see Barcelona (7-4) aim to recover from consecutive losses as it welcomes Real Madrid (5-6) for *El Clásico*. After being on the receiving end of [Andreas Obst](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/andreas-obst/004508/)'s record three-point shooting night last week, Barcelona will look to strengthen its perimeter defense. Fit-again [Dzanan Musa](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/dzanan-musa/006540/) will look to take advantage of any opportunities to strike from deep for Real, and his presence alongside former *Azulgrana* player [Mario Hezonja](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/mario-hezonja/003108/) – who reportedly nearly rejoined the club in the summer – will be a major threat for the hosts to contain. In a meeting between two of the four teams currently tied for fifth place, Monaco (7-4) will attempt to inflict a second straight loss on Panathinaikos (7-4). Monaco forces more turnovers than any other team (14.0 per game), so Panathinaikos will have to resist pressure on the ball to play its game.

FC Barcelona has completed the signing of Raul Neto, who has played 464 games in the NBA, on a deal until the end of the 2024-25 season.

[FC Barcelona](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fc-barcelona/bar/) has confirmed the signing of Raul Neto on a deal until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Neto (1.88 meters, 32 years old) joins Barcelona following the long-term injury suffered by [Nico Laprovittola, who will miss the remainder of this season](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/nico-laprovittola-to-undergo-knee-surgery/) after tearing his ACL.

A member of the Brazilian national team and an eight-year NBA veteran, Neto finally arrives in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague after initially signing for [Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fenerbahce-beko-istanbul/ulk/) in the summer of 2023.

However, he never appeared in the competition for Fenerbahce as he got injured at the FIBA World Cup and, later, the two parties went their separate ways.

Neto was previously a teammate of Barcelona guard [Tomas Satoransky](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tomas-satoransky/002939/) in the NBA, and the Brazilian guard could make his EuroLeague debut during Thursday's *Clásico* against Real Madrid.

Since recovering from injury, Neto has been playing back in his native Brazil for Pinheiros, averaging 16.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.6 steals in five Brazilian League games.

This is not going to be Neto's first experience in Spain, either. Having left his first club Minas in Brazil, he went on to suit up for Gipuzkoa (2011-14) and Murcia (2014-15) before beginning his NBA experience. 

In the NBA, Neto played 464 games, split between four teams: the Utah Jazz (2015-19), Philadelphia 76ers (2019-20), Washington Wizards (2020-22), and Cleveland Cavaliers (2022-23). In 435 regular-season games, his career averages stand at 5.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists in just over 15:30 minutes on the floor.

After FC Bayern Basketball guard Andreas Obst knocked down a EuroLeague-record 11 three-pointers against FC Barcelona, Sportradar has looked at how he got those triples off.

Stats review: Breaking down the different types of three-pointers

It was an exceptional week in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague as [Andreas Obst](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/andreas-obst/004508/) of [FC Bayern Munich](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fc-bayern-munich/mun/) knocked down 11 three-point attempts to break the previous record of 10 set and tied by three players in recent seasons. Knocking down 11 of his 16 attempts at SAP Garden, the 28-year-old guard added to his resume as one of the best shooters in the world.

What stood out – even in an all-time shooting display – was how many different ways Obst made shots. Of his 11 makes from beyond the arc, he knocked down 3 jumpers operating in pick-and-rolls, 3 spot-up jumpers, 2 attempts after receiving hand-offs, 1 shot in transition, 1 running off a screen, and 1 heat-check isolation attempt to break the record late in the fourth quarter after waving off a ball screen. Tallying a make in six of the seven play types Synergy tracks that typically result in three-pointers, Obst set the record while also making at least one shot out of nearly every major offensive action; he did not attempt any shots picking and popping.

There has been no better example of versatile shot-making in EuroLeague history and it's worth having a better picture of what three-point shooting looks like across the league to understand how special it was. The table above looks at the seven offensive actions that cover nearly every three-pointer attempted at the higher levels of professional basketball; a negligible number of other attempts occur when rebounds carom to the three-point line or deflections bounce to a shooter. Sorted by the percentage of total three-point attempts each accounts for with the rate they are converted at and associated leaders included for reference, this gives a snapshot of what goes into three-point shooting this season.

Unsurprisingly, spot-up attempts account for the majority of shots taken beyond the arc.  Teams seek out catch-and-shoot three-pointers from the corners in particular whether they are driving or kicking, operating out of pick-and-rolls, or playing inside out. While they find a fair amount of success creating these shots in the flow of games, the rate at which they convert them often hinges on who the shooter is and how open they are. [Paris Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/paris-basketball/prs/) forward [Tyson Ward](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/tyson-ward/012610/), for example, has made 40% of his spot-up three-pointers to lead all players in makes this season and, through guarded attempts fall through the net just 33% of the time across the league, the league average sits at 43% on unguarded spot-up jumpers. 

Transition threes tend to have more in common with spot-ups than any other action. 210 players have attempted a spot-up three and 161 have attempted one in transition with considerable overlap, but only 118 players have taken one off the dribble handling the ball in a pick-and-roll.  While the latter number has risen over the years, teams are not giving as many players the green light off the dribble as they are off the catch.  That’s part of the reason why the three-point percentage for a higher degree of difficulty pull-ups taken in pick-and-rolls matches that of spot-up threes and attempts in transition.

Off-screen attempts, pops to the perimeter, and hand-offs are even more specialized with teams utilizing screeners with shooting range as effectively as ever this season. With few of those actions coming in the flow of the game and most resulting from called plays, teams often pick and choose their spots to get shots up in those situations.

The opposite is largely true of isolations with the low shooting percentage resulting from the moments teams have to force jumpers late in the shot clock. While isolation attempts are converted with less-than-ideal consistency even when they aren’t heaves, there’s still value in players who can make something out of nothing or attack switches over the top.  No team has proven that more than Bayern this season as its 14-of-33 shooting from beyond the arc in one-on-one situations is a big reason they have risen towards the top of the standings. 

Stack that on top of the shooting versatility of Andreas Obst and even if they do not lead the league in three-point percentage, the way Bayern has made its threes has stood out this season as its shooting puts very different pressure on opposing defenses than the average team.

In his best EuroLeague game yet, Lonnie Walker starred for Zalgiris Kaunas in Round 11 as it beat Panathinaikos BC 84-77.

One of the biggest signings of the season so far has undoubtedly been [Zalgiris Kaunas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/zalgiris-kaunas/zal/)’s acquisition of [Lonnie Walker](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/lonnie-walker-iv/013403/), and on Friday evening the star guard celebrated his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague coming-out party in the best possible manner.

The 25-year-old was a shock pickup by Zalgiris last month after starting his professional career with six seasons in the NBA and averaging 9.8 points per game during his time with the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.

Understandably, it took the new recruit a while to adjust to the new environment of European basketball. His Zalgiris debut, a Round 8 loss at FC Bayern Munich, saw Walker miss all 8 of his field-goal attempts, finishing with 0 points, 2 turnovers and a PIR of -9. A player of such clear class would never stay that cold for long, though, and Walker soon started to hit his stride with 8 points against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade and 19 against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul.

Both of those games resulted in losses, however, so Walker was understandably eager to grab his first victory in the EuroLeague with a prestigious visit from reigning champion Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens on Friday. And he did just that, [starring with 24 points in an 84-77 triumph](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/lonnie-walker-inspires-zalgiris-to-win-over-panathinaikos-84-77/).

Walker made his intentions clear with a stunning play after just 65 seconds, driving to the rim and lifting off for a brutal two-handed slam which got the sold-out Zalgirio Arena crowd rocking. And that was just the start… he added three more baskets in the next 4 minutes, firing his team into a stunning 20-9 lead midway through the first quarter.

The scoring heroics continued, as Walker drained a pair of three-point strikes in the second quarter to help his team enjoy an 18-point advantage, 44-26, sparking a party-like atmosphere as the Zalgiris fans got their weekend started early and their new hero smoothly advanced to 17 points by halftime.

And he wasn’t done. Although Panathinaikos fought back and briefly led in the third quarter, Walker was back in the thick of things in the fourth quarter to score 5 consecutive points, netting a crucial triple and then grabbing a steal for an open-court dunk, reestablishing a double-digit advantage which would never be seriously threatened the rest of the way.

After the game, Walker admitted that he had been feeling anxious to enjoy the sweet taste of EuroLeague victory, saying: "We were all dialed in. We weren’t feeling too well coming off three losses, and I wasn’t feeling too well because I hadn’t got my first win in the EuroLeague, so we came in with a chip on our shoulders.

"I just wanted to get the first win, for the fans in Kaunas, and for my teammates. I’m really happy to be here, I love the team, love the organization, and it was more about the team win than anything else."

Considering his talent and reputation, it’s only inevitable that Walker is surrounded by high expectations. And he appears to be perfectly prepared to rise to that challenge. 

"I knew I had to bring energy," he stated. "My teammates have been trusting in me and instilling a lot of confidence within myself."

His coach, however, is clearly expecting more. Rather than lauding the game’s leading scorer with praise for his decisive contribution, [Andrea Trinchieri](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/zalgiris-kaunas/zal/trinchieri-andrea/) restricted himself to a cautious mixture of praise and encouragement.

"Lonnie’s a good player," said the Zalgiris boss. "I believe that he had great sparks. I believe that he can do better, especially on the defensive end and rebounding, but he’s a good player. The team helped him, and he helped the team."

If they keep on helping each other like they did on Friday night, Walker and Zalgiris could go very far.

**BELGRADE DERBY**: The fantastic atmosphere at Belgrade Arena even made Evan Fournier anxious to experience it when Olympiacos pays a visit. When the derby was said and done, it was Partizan that knew how to celebrate a road win over archrival Crvena Zvezda. The victory ended Partizan's six-game losing streak in the EuroLeague and it was Partizan's first win over Zvezda after seven losses in all competitions.

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv announced on Saturday that it had released guard [Saben Lee ](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/saben-lee/013389/)less than six weeks after he originally joined the club. He immediately re-signed with Manisa Basket, the Turkish club for which Lee had played earlier this season.

In eight games with Maccabi, Lee averaged 12.0 points, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals over 19:21 minutes. His [biggest highlight](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/videos/lee-wins-it-motorola-magic-moment-of-the-night/) was making the game-winning jumper in a Round 7 [victory over Real Madrid](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/lee-lifts-maccabi-past-real-79-78/).

Lee’s place with Maccabi seemed in jeopardy after he was not used at all in the team’s road [loss at EA7 Emporio Armani Milan](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/olimpia-milano-stands-strong-against-maccabi-98-86/) on Thursday. After that game, head coach Oded Kattash discussed the situation.

"I am trying as much as possible despite the circumstances to build a way, to build a process. And the fact that \[Lee\] is not with us every day makes it very difficult. I have no complaints about him. This is what was agreed to with him. But it’s an impossible situation," Kattash said.

A stunning performance in a winning effort against one of his former teams allowed [Elie Okobo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/elie-okobo/011212/) of AS Monaco to earn Round 11 MVP honors with a PIR of 36.

Okobo led Monaco to a 103-92 home win against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne with 27 points – his most since joining Monaco in 2022 – on 6-of-8 two-pointers, 3-of-4 three-pointers and 6-of-6 free throws. He added 6 assists, 3 steals and 6 fouls drawn to amass a PIR of 36, one shy off matching his career-best effort. Okobo has earned MVP of the Round honors for the third time in his career, and he is the first Monaco player to achieve it this season.

[Theo Maledon](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/theo-maledon/007027/) of ASVEL and [Andreas Obst](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/andreas-obst/004508/) of FC Bayern Munich both amassed a PIR of 30. Maledon finished with 24 points on 4-of-5 two-pointers, 3-of-4 three-pointers and 7-of-7 free throws, as well as 2 rebounds, 8 assists, a steal and 7 fouls drawn. Obst, meanwhile, set the EuroLeague single-game record for three-pointers made with 11, which came on 16 attempts, en route to a career-high 34 points in a 100-78 win against FC Barcelona. He also posted 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Barcelona’s [Jabari Parker](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/jabari-parker/012745/) and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan’s [Zach LeDay](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/zach-leday/008987/) had a PIR of 29, with LeDay’s squad winning 98-86 against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv. Parker scored a career-best 26 points, in addition to recording 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. LeDay amassed 22 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, a block and 6 fouls drawn.

### Individual highs: Andreas Obst, Bayern, 34 points

Bayern’s Obst scored 34 points in Round 11, the most of any player this season. His teammate [Carsen Edwards](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/carsen-edwards/011987/) leads the league in scoring with 21.4 points per game.

[Tyson Ward](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/tyson-ward/012610/) of Paris Basketball led all rebounders in this round by pulling down 11 boards. Two players – Milan’s [Nikola Mirotic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/nikola-mirotic/000796/) and Real Madrid’s [Walter Tavares](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/walter-tavares/005791/) – are tied atop the charts in rebounds with 7.5 boards per game.

Four players had 10 assists in Round 11: [Elijah Bryant](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/elijah-bryant/009846/) of Anadolu Efes Istanbul, [TJ Shorts](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/tj-shorts/012608/) of Paris, [Rokas Jokubaitis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/rokas-jokubaitis/007519/) of Maccabi and [Facu Campazzo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/facundo-campazzo/005928/) of Real Madrid. Maccabi’s [Tamir Blatt](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/tamir-blatt/011193/) is the top assist provider this season with 8.7 dimes per night.

[Alpha Diallo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/alpha-diallo/011226/) of Monaco collected a career-best 5 steals, more than anyone else in this round. Diallo is the season leader in steals with 1.7 per contest.

[Georgios Papagiannis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/georgios-papagiannis/005844/), also of Monaco, had a round-high 3 blocks. Efes’s [Vincent Poirier](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/vincent-poirier/004887/) and Real Madrid’s Tavares are averaging a league-best 1.6 blocks per game.

Paris duo Shorts (21 points, 10 assists) and Ward (11 points, 11 rebounds), Efes’s Bryant (11 points, 10 assists), and Real Madrid’s Campazzo (12 points, 10 assists) all posted a double-double in Round 11.

Dimitris had the following lineup: Theo Maledon of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne as team captain, then Anadolu Efes Istanbul guard Elijah Bryant, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan forward Zach LeDay, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade forward Filip Petrusev, and Olympiacos Piraeus center Nikola Milutinov. His sixth man was FC Bayern Munich's Carsen Edwards. On the bench, Dimitris had ALBA Berlin's Jonas Mattisseck, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv's Roman Sorkin, and ASVEL duo Mbaye Ndiaye and Joffrey Lauvergne. His team's head coach was Real Madrid tactician Chus Mateo.
