Paris Basketball is flying in the EuroLeague, and its 87-103 win at FC Barcelona in Round 10 might be its most impressive scalp yet.

[Paris Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/paris-basketball/prs/) has enjoyed a sensational start to its first-ever season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, but [Friday night’s 87-103 victory at FC Barcelona](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/unstoppable-paris-rolls-over-barcelona-87-103/) might just be the most notable triumph yet for Tiago Splitter’s team.

True, last season’s BKT EuroCup champion had already claimed the [impressive scalp of reigning EuroLeague titleholder Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/tae2425-rs3-report-prs-pan/), [won at AS Monaco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/tj-shorts-inspires-paris-to-rivalry-series-win-over-monaco-80-87/) and [downed fellow high-flier Zalgiris Kaunas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/paris-beats-zalgiris-83-77-for-fifth-straight-win/) in a solid performance earlier this week.

But two of those victories came at home, where it is far more commonplace to claim famous ‘upset’ victories against heavyweight opposition, and the other was against a well-known opponent from domestic competition.

Beating a title contender on the road, however, is a different proposition.

Just ask Barcelona’s previous visitors. All four of them so far this season had failed, with three of those games decided in double digits. And that was nothing new, because the *Azulgrana* went 15-2 at home last season – the joint-best record in the league – and 13-4 the previous campaign. So when a team with a 32-6 home record over the last two-and-a-bit seasons is beaten by 16 points… yes, that’s a pretty big deal.

The significance of Paris’s achievement was not lost on the French club in the immediate aftermath of the victory.

Star man [TJ Shorts](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/tj-shorts/012608/) – an early-season EuroLeague MVP contender – again excelled with 24 points and 9 assists, and he was understandably proud of his team’s efforts, saying: “We were able to find our composure. This is a tough place to play against a very good team with a lot of talent, and I’m proud of everybody who stepped up tonight.

“We found a way to withstand their run and make our own push. I felt like I was in a rhythm, my teammates had the utmost trust in me, my coaches allowed me to be me, and that’s the result you’re going to get. Today was a good day for myself, but it wasn’t just me out there, it was my whole team stepping up and making big plays for us to win this game.”

Fellow guard [Maodo Lo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/maodo-lo/007032/) also played a huge role in the win, draining 4 three-pointers on his way to a total of 20 points, and he echoed his teammate’s sentiments as he noted: “We were able to play our game on Barcelona’s home court, which is very difficult to do. They’re extremely talented and have a lot of experience so this was a huge win for us today.

“To win on Barcelona’s court is a really difficult challenge, so for us to get that done today was an unbelievable team effort.”

Coach Splitter was equally delighted, especially with his team’s drastic improvement in three-point shooting which went from 1 of 10 in the first half to 8 of 13 thereafter.

The manner of this latest victory begs the question of whether Paris will be able to follow up last season’s EuroCup success by challenging for another trophy at a higher level this time around.

Splitter, though, would not be drawn on the matter. When asked how far his team can go, he simply deadpanned: “I don’t know. We go game by game, and we’ll see.”

In a highly-entertaining game that went down to the wire, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens pulled out a 77-82 win over Virtus Segafredo Bologna on Friday night. Panathinaikos improved to 7-3 on the season, while Virtus dropped to a 2-8 record, tied for the worst in the league.

The two teams traded blows for 40 minutes, and the biggest lead of the game was the Greens' 32-40 margin in the second quarter. In the exciting closing moments, it was Jerian Grant and Mathias Lessort who delivered key punches for Panathinaikos. Kendrick Nunn paced the winners with 20 points, Lessort had 16 and 8 rebounds, Grant finished with 11 points and Kostas Sloukas scored 10. Will Clyburn had 18 points, and Toko Shengelia added 17 for Virtus, while Isaia Cordinier collected 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in a losing effort.

The two teams' defenses were in control early – Shengelia on one end and Konstantinos Mitolgou on the other each scoring 5 points, including a triple apiece, to make it 6-6. Clyburn hit a three-pointer that started a flood of baskets, with Diouf scoring twice for the hosts. Meanwhile, Lessort and Nunn combined for 13 points for the Greens before Lessort delivered a pair of dunks and Nunn a triple. But Clyburn finished the quarter with a coast-to-coast dunk that made it 18-19 after 10 minutes.

Close-range baskets from Cordinier and Ante Zizic capped an 8-0 Virtus run, but a corner triple from Ioannis Papapetrou tied it at 22-22. Omer Yurtseven and Achille Polonara traded big dunks, then four consecutive three-pointers from Panathinaikos, two by Nunn and one apiece by Sloukas and Grant, helped open a 32-40 margin. After Cordinier and Yurtseven traded triples, then Alessandro Pajola and Sloukas exchanged threes to keep the margin at 8 points, only for Clyburn to finish the half with 5 points in the final 10.8 seconds, including a last-second three to make it 43-46 at the break.

A three-pointer from Papapetrou extended it to 47-53 as baskets became few and far between. Clyburn and Pajola had a layup apiece, but Mitoglou hit a three-pointer. Virtus got within 55-56 before a scoreless stretch of nearly 3 minutes without a basket, and there was a single field goal on each side – a layup by Juancho Hernangomez and Clyburn – in the final 4:30 of the quarter, as Panathinaikos held 58-60 after 30 minutes.

Shengelia opened the fourth for Virtus with a three-pointer, and his and Polonara's energy carried the hosts. A dunk by Polonara and corner triple by Daniel Hackett made it 68-66 midway through the fourth. But Lessort scored inside and followed that score with a tip-in. Shengelia's tip-in tied it at 72-72, which is when Grant stepped up. He first nailed a step-back three-pointer, then fed Lessort for a dunk 26 seconds before the end, 74-77. Virtus had a chance thanks to a triple from Clyburn, and Nunn only split free throws with 6 seconds to go, but Hernangomez grabbed the offensive board and scored to seal the deal.

Olimpia Milano celebrated an 81-88 win at KK Partizan in Round 10 of the EuroLeague and improved to 4-6, while the Serbian team dropped to 2-8 after suffering a sixth defeat in a row.

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan celebrated an 81-88 win at Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in Round 10 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and improved to 4-6, while the Serbian team dropped to 2-8 after suffering a sixth defeat in a row.

Nikola Mirotic paced Milan with a game-high 19 points, while Nico Mannion and former Partizan power forward Zach LeDay chipped in with 13 each. Armoni Brooks added 10 points for the visitors, who bounced back from a tough 105-101 overtime loss at ALBA Berlin earlier this week.

At the other end, Brandon Davies and Sterling Brown sank 17 points apiece and Carlik Jones added 12 points for Partizan, which suffered yet another late meltdown, allowing the opposition to snatch victory in a dramatic finish.

Clearly lacking confidence after a series of losses, Partizan made a jittery start and allowed the visitors, who were missing key players in Stefano Tonut, Josh Nebo and Shavon Shields, to take a 9-14 lead early on. The hosts then found some rhythm on offense and turned the tide to lead 38-26 in the second quarter, before Milan replied with a 0-12 run to level the score.

Partizan nosed ahead 42-38 at halftime and held on to its slender advantage throughout the third quarter, as the improved form of Davis and Brown facilitated a 65-64 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes of a thrilling contest.

Roared on by fervent home crowd support, Partizan stayed in the driver’s seat until Mirotic sank one from deep and Giampaolo Ricci followed up with an audacious triple off the glass to give Milan the lead for good, 76-78. Partizan played catch-up for the rest of the contest and missed several chances to force the final twist. Ice-cool shooting from the foul line saw Milan race through the finish line emphatically, leaving Partizan rooted in 16th place after yet another scathing defeat on its home court.

Red-hot Paris Basketball claimed its sixth straight victory in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague by becoming the first visiting team to win at Palau Blaugrana this season, shocking FC Barcelona 87-103 on Friday night. The two teams are now level with a 7-3 record, one win short of first place.

Paris made an explosive start and roared into a double-digit advantage before the end of the first quarter, but a three-point barrage brought Barcelona back to a narrow halftime lead, 48-45. It stayed close until Paris accelerated away in the fourth, setting up a famous road win after scoring 58 points in the second half.

The unstoppable TJ Shorts was again decisive with 24 points and 9 assists, while backcourt teammate Maodo Lo added 20 points on 4-of-7 three-point shooting, Nadir Hifi scored 15 and Tyson Ward paired 13 points with 7 rebounds. Jabari Parker led Barcelona with 19 points, while Juan Nunez had a personal-best 15. Joel Parra and Willy Hernangomez both scored 12 in a losing cause.

A fast-paced start saw Kevarrius Hayes score consecutive baskets as Paris flew into a 4-10 lead after 3 minutes. Tomas Satoransky’s fierce slam brought Barcelona closer, and Parra’s deep three followed by Nunez’s fast-break layup made it 13-14. Free throws and Collin Malcolm’s smooth layup pulled Paris clear, 13-20. Lo’s driving score and Hifi’s transition triple kept the guest moving, and Shorts added a pair of mid-range jumpers for an 18-31 lead after 10 minutes.

Ward’s layup completed a 0-8 run, which was snapped by Alex Abrines’s three-pointer. Kevin Punter added a jumper and Satoransky scored inside as Barcelona fought back to 25-33, and Parker netted a triple as the temperature rose. Lo’s layup was bettered by another Parker triple, making it 31-37. Abrines struck identical corner threes to tie it up, and Parker’s free throws gave Barcelona its first lead. Ward snapped the 11-0 run with a layup, before close-range finishes from Parra and Nunez made it 48-45 at the interval.

Nunez scored twice early in the third quarter as Barcelona claimed its highest lead, 56-48, before Malcolm’s floater pulled Paris back. Nunez stayed hot with another inside bucket but Shorts hit a triple, which was matched by Parra for a 62-55 lead. Hifi’s layup and Leopold Cavaliere’s dunk made it closer, and Hernangomez’s three-point play was bettered by Lo’s consecutive triples for a 65-69 Paris lead. Hernangomez scored two more tough buckets before Ward responded with a layup, and it was 70-73 at the end of the third.

Parker and Ward traded triples at the start of the fourth, before Shorts netted another mid-range strike and Yakuba Ouattara followed a triple with a layup for a 77-83 lead. Lo’s layup and Hifi’s triple gave Paris a double-digit lead, before Abrines snapped the 0-7 run off the glass and Parker threw down a dunk. But Shorts continued his mid-range clinic and Mo added another triple, making it 81-93 with 3 minutes left. Lo’s fourth three-ball left the outcome in no doubt, and the inevitable Shorts took his team’s tally into treble figures from the foul line.

EuroLeague Basketball Official Report on Round 10 Game: FC Bayern Munich vs. ALBA Berlin

In the Round 10 game between FC Bayern Munich and ALBA Berlin, a scoring error was identified. With 0:02 seconds remaining in the second quarter, and the score at 62-42, ALBA Berlin's player, Trevion Williams, successfully scored a two-point basket. However, the table officials did not count the valid basket, resulting in the halftime score being incorrectly recorded.

The correct score at halftime should have been 62-44.

After reviewing the game, Euroleague Basketball acknowledged the error. The correct final score of the game, 115-88 and the individual statistics of Trevion Williams, were corrected and updated on the official Turkish Airlines EuroLeague website to reflect the valid basket.

Fenerbahce Beko dominated the glass during its 65-72 win at Zalgiris Kaunas in Round 10 as the Turkish side became the first team to win at Zalgirio Arena this season.

[Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fenerbahce-beko-istanbul/ulk/) dominated the glass during [its 65-72 win at Zalgiris Kaunas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/fenerbahce-beats-zalgiris-65-72-to-stay-unbeaten-on-the-road/) in Round 10 as the Turkish side became the first team to win at Zalgirio Arena this season.

On its way to a fifth consecutive victory, the guests outrebounded Fenerbahce 33-45, pulling down as many as 14 offensive boards. Those 45 rebounds tied its season high, which was set in [a 73-77 road victory against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/fenerbahce-overcomes-de-colo-asvel-for-third-straight-win/) in Round 8.

During its current winning streak, Fenerbahce is averaging 38.8 rebounds per night, pulling down 13.4 offensive rebounds. Its opponents combined for an average of 31.8 boards and just 9.6 offensive rebounds.

[Nigel Hayes-Davis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nigel-hayes-davis/008962/) finished the game with 18 points and 11 rebounds for its third EuroLeague career double-double. He previously had double-doubles with Fenerbahce against Real Madrid last March and against ALBA Berlin in February 2023.

"We made it difficult for ourselves. We did a fantastic, fantastic job in the second quarter," Hayes-Davis said after the game. "We knew they would come out and fight, and we did not respond well at all and put ourselves in a dogfight. But we showed great character amongst ourselves and were able to come out with a win in a very tough arena."

Nigel Hayes-Davis finished the game with 18 points and 11 rebounds for its third EuroLeague career double-double.

Hayes-Davis gets double-double at Zalgirio Arena

Fenerbahce drew 28 fouls and hit 25-of-29 free throws. Those 25 free throws made are the most by the club in a non-overtime game since hitting as many, in 32 attempts, against Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz on April 20, 2018. Fenerbahce did not shoot the ball well (39.4% 2FG, 28.0% 3FG) and finished the game with a season-low 9 assists, but forced Zalgiris to even poorer percentages (37.2% 2FG, 25.0% 3FG); its hustle and rebounding power did the rest.

Fenerbahce is the only EuroLeague team not to lose on the road so far this season, but Hayes-Davis didn't want to focus too much on that.

"It's the EuroLeague, anything can happen," he said. "So the mindset, as I've been saying in the past couple of weeks, is to try to improve. First of all, try to get better and then try to win while we are doing it."

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul registered its fifth consecutive win in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague by edging Zalgiris Kaunas 65-72 on the road in Round 10 on Friday. Saras Jasikevicius's squad improved to 8-2 in the standings and kept up their unbeaten road record to start the season, while Andrea Trinchieri's men dropped to 6-4 and are now on a three-game losing streak. 

Nigel Hayes-Davis led the winners with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Marko Guduric added 16 points while Sertac Sanli and Arturs Zagars each had 10 for Fenerbahce. Lonnie Walker, on his home debut, added 19 points for Zalgiris. Sylvain Francisco chipped in with 13 for the hosts.

Zagars and Hayes-Davis got Fenerbahce going, then Walker followed a three-point play with a step-back triple for a 6-4 Zalgiris lead. Ignas Brazdeikis took over with a driving layup that Hayes-Davis matched with a jumper. Bonzie Colson dunked, but Walker struck once again from beyond the arc and Brazdeikis's three-point play boosted the hosts' lead to 14-8. Hayes-Davis drained a triple, Lukas Lekavicius hit a close jumper and Deividas Sirvydis added a coast-to-coast layup for a 18-12 score. Sanli stepped up for Fenerbahce and Guduric erased Sirvydis's triple with a three-point play that kept the guests within 21-17 after 10 minutes.

 

Sanli buried a three-pointer early in the second quarter. Walker sank a floater in the lane that Guduric bettered with a triple. He got help from Sanli to put Fenerbahce ahead, 23-25. Dyshawn Pierre scored in the low post, Zagars added a three-pointer and Tarik Biberovic's play made Zalgiris call a timeout, 23-32. Zagars took over with a wild acrobatic layup that capped a 0-14 Fenerbahce run. Bryant Dunston stepped up with an alley-oop layup, then Guduric, Pierre and Colson boosted the guests' lead to 26-43 at halftime.

Dunston took over with an off-balanced three-point play right after the break, then Walker struck from downtown to make Fenerbahce call a timeout at 32-43. Arnas Butkevicius and Francisco each hit free throws to cap a 9-0 Zalgiris run. Colson rescued Fenerbahce with a fast-break layup and Hayes-Davis responded to Mike Mitchell's driving basket with a corner triple. Francisco followed a five-meter jumper with a bomb from downtown that gave Zalgiris fans hope at 42-48. Guduric kept pacing Fenerbahce but didn't find much help from his teammates. Meanwhile, Walker and Edgaras Ulanovas brought the hosts even closer, 47-52, after 30 minutes.

Sanli banked in a turnaround jumper early in the fourth quarter. Dovydas Giedraitis solved a broken offensive set with a layup that Hayes-Davis improved with a three-pointer for a 48-57 Fenerbahce lead. Mitchell scored in the paint, but Guduric answered from beyond the arc. Francisco then kept Zalgiris within 53-60 with 6 minutes left. Mitchell and Zagars traded layups before Pierre gave Fenerbahce fresh air at 55-64. Francisco scored in penetration, Nicolo Melli answered with a tip-in and Walker's three-point play brought the hosts as close as 60-66. Mitchell ignited the crowd with a three-point play, which was followed by Hayes-Davis swishing a turnaround jumper, but Francisco had a three-point play, 65-68, with 1:06 left. Hayes-Davis missed, but so did Francisco from downtown with 6.0 seconds left. Zagars sealed the outcome from the foul line.

**Geoff:** Something has to give at Zalgirio Arena on Friday night. Heading into this Rivalry Series clash, Zalgiris is a perfect 4-0 on its home floor while Fenerbahce has gone 100% on its travels, winning all three of its road games. The Zalgiris crowd is up there among the best fan bases in the EuroLeague, spurring on their team at every opportunity, and the noise they generate makes life incredibly tough for road teams. Admittedly, Zalgiris has lost its last two games – on the road at FC Bayern Munich and Paris Basketball – and Fenerbahce has won four straight, but I have a hunch that Saras Jasikevicius’s homecoming will end up being spoiled by Andrea Trinchieri’s men. Watch out for a big game from Lonnie Walker, too.

**Javier:** Zalgiris has registered consecutive road losses but is back at Zalgirio Arena, where it is still undefeated. Its fans know when to push on the team and they know they can make a difference In this game. Sylvain Francisco should bounce back in Round 10 and Lonnie Walker is set to keep adjusting and keep contributing more. While Zalgiris has improved its backcourt, Fenerbahce is facing severe injury issues with Wade Baldwin, Devon Hall and Scottie Wilbekin all sidelined. It is time for Arturs Zagars to step up, and it won't be a surprise to see Marko Guduric playing point guard occasionally. In general, Zalgiris should always be the favorite at home. Always.

**Igor:** Double rounds are always challenging, especially for teams playing two games in 48 hours. For Zalgiris,  it will be even less than that, while Fenerbahce will have had an extra day to prepare. That, in my opinion, will play a bigger role than the fact that Zalgiris will have the support of its sold-out arena. Zalgiris has the league's best defense, which allows 75.1 points per game, but Fenerbahce has been winning ugly, and in the words of coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, that is the only way Fenerbahce can currently win. Saras also returns to his hometown, where Zalgiris has beaten Fener in each of their last four games, each time by more than 10 points – and that includes three wins by 20 points or more. I think that trend will stop and Jasikevicius's troops will come out on top.

Igor's prediction: **Fenerbahce to win by 6 points.**

**Frankie:** Well, Fenerbahce has been hot with four straight wins and Zalgiris has hit its skid with back-to-back losses. But, Fenerbahce has injury problems with Scottie Wilbekin and then Wade Baldwin and then Devon Hall going down, while Zalgiris has strengthened its backcourt with the addition of Lonnie Walker. Zalgiris is undefeated (4-0) at home. Fenerbahce is undefeated (3-0) on the road. So what does that tell you? That one can make a case for any result. The case I will make is that Fenerbahce has a deeper team that will see it to a narrow victory at Zalgirio Arena. Also, thanks for reading this far!
