The second set of honorees on the All-25 EuroLeague Team includes five EuroLeague MVPs! Dimitris Diamantidis, Mike James, Vasilije Micic, Anthony Parker and Sergio Rodriguez were selected to be enshrined among the 25 biggest stars of the competition's first quarter-century. They join Nando De Colo, Sergio Llull, Ramunas Siskauskas, Vassilis Spanoulis and Nikola Vujcic, who were named last week in the first beat of players to be released.

The selection process combined the votes of EuroLeague head coaches who had won a championship, past All-Decade Team members and MVPs, media representatives and fans. The coaches and playing greats each made up 40% of the final vote, and the media and fans were each 10%.

### Dimitris Diamantidis

The ultimate leader on and off the floor, [Dimitris Diamantidis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/dimitris-diamantidis/jko/) was the cornerstone of Panathinaikos Athens's dynasty. A three-time EuroLeague champion with the Greens and the 2010-11 EuroLeague MVP, Diamantidis was an elite defender who could also be counted on to have the ball in his hands on offense at crunch time. He was the only player voted to both the 2000-10 and 2010-20 EuroLeague All-Decade teams

Diamantidis led Panathinaikos to EuroLeague titles in 2007, 2009 and 2011 and was the Final Four MVP in the first and the last of the three. He is still considered the EuroLeague gold standard for defense, having won the EuroLeague Best Defender Award a record six times, including five straight between 2005 and 2009. In 2011 he became the only player to win the EuroLeague championship, EuroLeague MVP and Best Defender trophies in the same season. Diamantidis led Panathinaikos to five Final Fours in his first eight EuroLeague seasons. His four All-EuroLeague First Team selections are the second-most in competition history.

### Mike James

The EuroLeague’s all-time leader in points scored and the only player to have poured in more than 5,000 career points, [Mike James](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/mike-james/005985/) has certainly made a lasting impression across his 11 seasons in the competition. From showing promise at Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz and Panathinaikos Athens to securing the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy and his first All-EuroLeague selection at EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, James went to new heights after joining AS Monaco from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2022.

James has earned three straight All-EuroLeague selections as a Monaco player and took home the EuroLeague MVP award in 2023-24. The 34-year-old has been the EuroLeague MVP of the Month five times, the second most of any player in history. He also ranks in the top 10 all-time in minutes played, two-pointers made, three-pointers made, free throws made, assists, steals and PIR. Already a bona fide EuroLeague legend, don’t be surprised to see James further add to his legacy in the coming years.

### Vasilije Micic

A floor general and a scorer who gradually grew into the ultimate winner with Anadolu Efes Istanbul, [Vasilije Micic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/vasilije-micic/profile/002580/) won just about everything on the EuroLeague hardwoods. Micic led Efes to back-to-back EuroLeague titles as the Final Four MVP in 2021 and 2022. He was the 2020-21 EuroLeague MVP and the EuroLeague Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Award winner, averaging 18.2 points in the 2021-22.

Micic’s role grew through his years with FC Bayern Munich, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade and Zalgiris Kaunas, which he helped to a Final Four appearance in 2018. But it was with Efes where Micic broke through as a star, leading the club to three consecutive championship game appearances. He is a three-time All-EuroLeague selection and 10-time winner of MVP of the Round honors. Micic is one of just 10 players with at least 3,000 points and 1,000 assists in EuroLeague history – and the one with the fewest minutes and games played in that select group.

### Anthony Parker

[Anthony Parker](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/anthony-parker/profile/aow/) cemented himself as one of the premier two-way players in EuroLeague history during his time with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He was the go-to guy on the Maccabi dynasty that won back-to-back EuroLeague championships in 2004 and 2005 and reached the championship game the following season. Parker is the only two-time EuroLeague MVP; he captured the honors the first two times the award was presented (2005, 2006). He was also the 2004 Final Four MVP.

Parker was a dynamic scorer, elite defender, and outstanding leader. His athleticism and efficiency set a new standard for perimeter players in Europe. In fact, Parker's career PIR average of 21.4 over 90 games is the highest in EuroLeague history and his scoring average of 16.3 points per game is likewise the most of any player who appeared in more than three seasons. But perhaps more than anything else, Parker was a winner. He led Maccabi to the Final Four in each of his four EuroLeague seasons and he influenced future generations of players with his professionalism and skill set.

### Sergio Rodriguez

One of the most creative point guards and ballhandlers ever seen in European basketball, [Sergio Rodriguez](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/sergio-rodriguez/profile/cvm/) was a fan favorite everywhere he played. Nicknamed "El Chacho", he combined elite playmaking, exceptional court vision, and clutch shot-making to become a dominant force in European basketball. Rodriguez suited up for four clubs in his 14 EuroLeague seasons and is best known for his accomplishments with Real Madrid, where he played eight of those seasons. He helped Real reach a golden age with four Final Fours, three championship games appearances and the 2015 EuroLeague crown and 2014 MVP trophy in his first six seasons with the club. Moreover, Chacho did it as a "supersub", coming off the bench to change games for *Los Blancos*.

Rodriguez won his second EuroLeague championship with CSKA Moscow in 2018 and in 2021 helped EA7 Emporio Armani Milan reach the Final Four for the first team in 29 years. Two years later, he led Real to another EuroLeague triumph in epic, come-from-behind fashion. Rodriguez retired with nine Final Four appearances and three EuroLeague championships.

Round 28 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season is here and it includes a highly-anticipated rematch of last season's championship game between Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens and Real Madrid. The Rivalry Series Game of the Week is just one of nine great showdowns with plenty of big opportunities for EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge managers. This week, I will try to offer something for everyone: superstars, newcomers and some out-of-the-box thinking. Here we go!

### Mike James, AS Monaco (16.0 credits)

Paris and Monaco have been battling hard for the last two seasons. Paris plays two games in three days, which means Monaco's players should have a little extra energy. [Mike James](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/mike-james/005985/) could use this as an opportunity to remind everyone that he is the reigning EuroLeague MVP in his matchup against TJ Shorts, one of the top candidates for the award this season.

### Vladimir Lucic, FC Bayern Munich (9.4 credits)

It has been a hard season for [Vladimir Lucic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/vladimir-lucic/001288/) but injuries seem to be a thing of the past. He's had a double-digit PIR in all five games since he returned. In Round 27, Lucic had 4 points on 2 of 6 shooting against Paris but had 8 rebounds and 5  fouls drawn for a PIR of 14. He doesn't need to score to get a good PIR: perfect for Fantasy!

EuroLeague Fantasy tips: Round 28

### Jimmy Clark, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (9.7 credits)

[Jimmy Clark](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/jimmy-clark-iii/013699/) had an impressive EuroLeague debut with Maccabi, leading his new team to a 94-76 home win over Fenerbahce with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. He also had 6 turnovers and 4 fouls, which made his PIR drop to 13. It is safe to assume Clark will only get better and better with more time for adjustment. Go for him!

### Willy Hernangomez, FC Barcelona  (10.4 credits)

I know, it is a bit of a risk because he is not seeing the playing time he used to months ago. Even so, [Willy Hernangomez](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/willy-hernangomez/003196/) has proved to be an effective player even with limited playing time. He has great hands and touch around the rim, rebounds well and can amass a high PIR in no time. I like his chances against ALBA.

### Kendrick Nunn, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (16.9 credits)

[Kendrick Nunn](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/kendrick-nunn/012774/) was chosen as the MVP for February after averaging 25.7 points and 5.0 assists for a PIR of 26.3. His team plays at home against Real and an incredible basketball atmosphere is expected. And as they say in the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge podcast... Home Nunn is always the best Nunn. A solid choice for team captain!

[Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fenerbahce-beko-istanbul/roster/ulk/?season=2024-25) solidified its grip on second place in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with a hard-earned [83-87 Monday night victory](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/fenerbahce-overcomes-paris-83-87-to-strengthen-grip-on-second-place/) at [Paris Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/paris-basketball/roster/prs/?season=2024-25), and a club record in rebounding was a big part of the reason why.

The tone was set very early with 3 offensive boards in the team’s very first possession and that pattern continued throughout the encounter as Saras Jasikevicius’s men finished with a club-record 50 total rebounds – including a mammoth 30 at the offensive end, which tied CSKA Moscow for the EuroLeague record.

That success under the boards was a real collective effort, with 10 different players grabbing multiple rebounds. [Khem Birch](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/khem-birch/007182/) led the way with 7, while [Devon Hall](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/devon-hall/011205/)’s 5 offensive boards just outshone [Nigel Hayes-Davis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/nigel-hayes-davis/008962/) and Birch with 4 apiece.

Speaking to EuroLeague TV immediately after the game, Fener boss Jasikevicius underlined his team’s rebounding success as he noted: “I thought our fighting spirit was great. In the first half, Paris was more physical, we were making too many mental mistakes from the gameplan, but the second half was much better.”

Another important factor in the triumph was a solid performance from [Wade Baldwin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/wade-baldwin-iv/009863/), who posted 11 points and 8 assists in just his second game back after a long injury absence.

“It’s great to be back,” said Baldwin. “\[After\] three months out it feels like I’m just getting started. Just trying to find the groove.”

Asked to identify the key to the victory, the versatile guard noted: “Locking down and getting stops, finding our groove on defense, getting out and running and finding some easy transition baskets, and winning the game down the stretch.”

Fenerbahce will complete its tough week of road games with a testing trip to in-form [EA7 Emporio Armani Milan](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/ea7-emporio-armani-milan/roster/mil/?season=2024-25) on Thursday, but first Jasikevicius’s players will be rewarded for their efforts in the French capital with a bit of downtime.

“Tomorrow? It’s going to be a nice walk in Paris,” smiled the Lithuanian playcaller. And after Monday’s win, the Champs-Elysees will never have looked so appealing.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul held off Paris Basketball, 83-87, in a thrilling Monday night makeup game originally scheduled for Round 17. Fenerbahce is now in second place with an 18-9 record, with Paris tied for fourth at 16-11.

The hosts flew into a double-digit lead by the end of the first quarter and were up 45-37 at the break. Fenerbahce recovered to go ahead in the third quarter and held on during the tight closing stages. Marko Guduric paced the winners with 16 points, with Nigel Hayes-Davis and Tarik Biberovic scoring 14, while Wade Baldwin paired 11 points with 8 assists. TJ Shorts again inspired Paris with 22 points and 8 assists, with Nadir Hifi scoring 15 and Tyson Ward netting 14.

Shorts opened the scoring from midrange and Ward added a driving layup. Kevarrius Hayes slammed an alley-oop and Shorts netted a three-point play for a 9-1 lead, before Hayes-Davis made Fenerbahce’s first buckets with a floater and a triple. Hifi and Yakuba Ouattara kept Paris moving, 14-6, but triples from Biberovic and Sertac Sanli followed by Biberovic’s layup tied it, 16-16. Mikael Jantunen’s triple and Maodo Lo’s reverse layup restored Paris’s lead, and Ward’s three-pointer followed by Shorts’ jumper delivered a 26-16 edge after 10 minutes.

Nicolo Melli’s tip-in to start the second quarter snapped a 10-0 run, but Shorts and Jantunen preserved a healthy home lead. Bandja Sy exploded a transition alley-oop for a 32-18 lead, but Bonzie Colson hit back with 5 straight points. Leo Cavaliere and Lo’s three maintained a double-digit lead, which Khem Birch narrowed with a layup-and-one. Dyshawn Pierre’s triple pulled it back to 41-35, but Shorts netted twice inside to give his team a 45-37 interval lead.

Guduric owned the early stages of the third, scoring three baskets to pull it back to 47-45. Ward hit from deep and Shorts added another inside basket, but Hayes-Davis and Pierre struck from long-range to give Fener its first lead, 52-53. Biberovic added a tough three and Birch capped a 0-14 run from the foul line for a 52-61 lead, as Paris went scoreless for nearly five minutes before Hayes made an alley-oop layup. Shorts added a three-point play and Sy scored in transition, making it 60-63 with ten minutes left.

Hayes from close range and Ward from deep forced a lead change early in the fourth, but Sanli tied it up with a putback, 65-65. Ward’s fourth triple of the night was answered by Biberovic from deep, before Baldwin’s dunk was followed by Biberovic’s corner three for a 71-76 lead with three minutes left. Baldwin added a jumper to complete a 0-9 run, but Hifi’s three gave Paris hope, 75-78. Hayes-Davis free throws were followed by another Hifi triple, before Baldwin and Shorts traded inside blows to make it 80-82. Guduric added a three-point play with 12 seconds left, and another Hifi triple wasn’t enough to save Paris.

As the MVP of Round 26 and the co-MVP of Round 27, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens star guard Kendrick Nunn was a natural choice to be named the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP of the Month for February 2025

Nunn was instrumental in Panathinaikos's unbeaten month, leading the Greens to a perfect 3-0 record in February. The dynamic guard showcased his elite scoring ability and all-around game, averaging 25.7 points and 5.0 assists for a PIR of 26.3. He shot an impressive 68% on two-pointers (17 of 25) and 50% from beyond the arc (10 of 20).

The MVP of the Month award is now in its 20th season. The winner is named by Euroleague Basketball based on his and his team's performance during the month in question. The February award was based on the three games that all teams played last month.

This is Nunn's second MVP of the Month after claiming April honors last season. He joins Dimitris Diamantidis (December 2020, March 2012) and Nick Calathes (November 2017, March 2019) as the only players to be twice named MVP of the Month with Panathinaikos.

Nunn's best performance of the month came in Round 26's blowout win over Anadolu Efes Istanbul when he went off for 36 points and tied his career-high with a PIR of 37. That came after he led the Greens to a narrow victory over Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul in Round 25 by scoring 13 points in the final 6 and a half minutes, including the game-winning free throw with 1.1 seconds remaining. Nunn finished the month with a game-high 24 points – including just 2 missed field goals – and 6 assists in a 93-96 road win at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.

His February exploits further established Nunn as one of the premier guards in the competition and his ability to step up in high-pressure moments has been vital for the Greens. With February's close, the Greens are third in the league with a 17-10 record and Nunn leads the league in scoring with 20.7 points per game.

With the EuroLeague Playoffs fast approaching, Nunn's form and leadership will be crucial as Panathinaikos aims to defend the crown and the player seeks to become the club's first-ever winner of the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy.

When we compare teams' offensive and defensive efficiency marks to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings, not everything matches up

Stats review: Using efficiency to reexamine the standings

The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague returned from hiatus last week with several teams securing important road wins, numerous standout individual performances, and the movement throughout the standings that — at this point — feels like a weekly tradition. With only seven games remaining, the tension of each round is set to ramp up quickly as the margin for error for teams in the middle of the playoff hunt remains razor-thin.

The table above lists the top 13 teams in the standings.  Coincidentally, that covers the teams with this season’s 13 highest efficiency differentials, or the number of points per possession a team has scored minus those that they have allowed.  While the teams match by name, the order in which they appear has been wildly different so far this season as many teams are currently outperforming their placement in the standings. 

While things begin simply enough with Olympiacos Piraeus, whose performance on the offensive end and consistency starting and finishing games has paced it to the top of the standings and the top efficiency differential, the similarities end there. Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade has built the league’s second-best body of work on paper following its win over Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz but currently sits in the Play-In Showdown zone in the standings. While some of that can be attributed to Partizan’s remaining strength of schedule — it will be the team whose results dictate a great deal of how the season will play out from here as it visits Olympiacos this week before taking on all three of the teams on the outside looking in for postseason qualification and two teams currently positioned to appear in the Play-In games — Partizan's 1-5 record in games decided by 5 points or fewer reveals the harsh reality of this EuroLeague season. 

Playing good basketball is no longer good enough in the EuroLeague; when a team plays well has become nearly just as important. Partizan has been one of the league’s most balanced teams, especially since the calendar turned to 2025, but a couple of early losses in one-possession games have suppressed its placement in the standings months after the fact. 

Just one spot ahead of Partizan in the standings is FC Bayern Munich, whose league-best 7-1 record in close games has kept it in the thick of things to avoid a Play-In matchup. While Bayern's inconsistency defensively has hurt it on the road, it has delivered in a lot of big moments this season to compensate.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and Paris Basketball are the two high seeds ranked in the bottom half of the league in efficiency differential. While Paris’s stop in the standings is not hard to figure out given it won 10 consecutive games at one point, Fenerbahce’s is more complicated as its character and quality as a team has shown much more clearly in wins than in the couple of surprising blowout losses it has suffered on the year.

With some of the league’s best efficiency differentials and most successful clubs in recent history on the edge of the standings, it will be fascinating to see if Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Anadolu Efes Istanbul can prove that they are indeed sleeping giants over the next month in a half. 

What all of this proves is that, perhaps as much as any season of any elite league in recent history, the #EveryGameMatters marketing is not hyperbole; the 2024-25 EuroLeague has found the sweet spot. Games that were played in the first month of the season are still lifting or haunting some teams while others continue to wait for a regression to the mean into the waning moments of the regular season. Getting to watch how things play out over the final weeks of the season is something we should not take for granted.

Ergin Ataman’s men finally tasted victory again on the road by knocking off [LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/ldlc-asvel-villeurbanne/roster/asv/?season=2024-25) on Friday for its first road win in 2025.

The [93-96 result in France](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/panathinaikos-fights-past-asvel-93-96-to-grab-first-road-win-of-2025/) snapped a three-game road losing streak dating back to [Panathinaikos’s 80-69 triumph](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/panathinaikos-hands-bayern-first-ever-euroleague-loss-at-sap-garden-69-80/) at [FC Bayern Munich](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fc-bayern-munich/roster/mun/?season=2024-25) on December 27 in Round 18.

“We found a way to win this important game because we know it is not easy to beat ASVEL on their home court,” Ataman said after the game.

Panathinaikos’s struggles go back even further. After winning a third straight road game in Round 10 on November 15, the Greens dropped six of the next seven away games. The average losing margin was 14.3 points, including [a disastrous 93-67 defeat](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/efes-beats-up-panathinaikos-93-67/) at [Anadolu Efes Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/anadolu-efes-istanbul/roster/ist/?season=2024-25) in Round 15.

As good as Panathinaikos looked at times against ASVEL - opening leads of 16-33 and 52-67 - Ataman’s men still committed 14 turnovers and watched the hosts turn those into 21 points. Panathinaikos had punched ASVEL but could not deliver the knockout.

“We had the chance many times to break the game open - more than 14-15 points. But we missed shots and made turnovers. But we found a way to win,” the coach said.

The importance of the victory was not lost on [Kendrick Nunn](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/kendrick-nunn/012774/), who poured in a game-high 24 points.

When asked about the team’s road woes, Nunn said: “We are very conscious of that. Even before the break, we said as a group we have to take care of things on the road. We play well at home. We just have to play the same way on the road. And that is our goal for the second part of the season.”

Olympiacos is 10-2 at home while Maccabi just surprised [Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fenerbahce-beko-istanbul/roster/ulk/?season=2024-25) this round, and fifth-placed Monaco has a 9-5 mark at home.

With one win separating second from seventh place in the standings, every victory will be crucial - especially road victories.

Panathinaikos fans are desperately hoping the win at ASVEL can finally turn around the team’s road woes - because the Greens could likely need two road victories to lock up home-court advantage for the playoffs.
