### Campazzo's heroics came up short

The Argentine wizard kept Real Madrid alive and gave the reigning champion a shot at beating Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, only to then commit a late, late turnover that allowed Yam Madar to win an overtime thriller. Nevertheless, his personal-best 33 points are what gave Los Blancos a chance to secure the victory in the first place, with Campazzo having gone a perfect 11-of-11 from two-point territory. That efficiency from inside the arc is tied for the best-ever shooting performance on two-pointers, with Ante Tomic and Gustavo Ayon having previously achieved this feat in the 2015-16 and 2018-19 seasons, respectively.

### Bonga did a bit of everything for Bayern

Now in his second season in the EuroLeague, the 24-year-old posted 10 points and 8 rebounds, including 5 on the offensive end, as well as 3 assists and 2 blocks in Thursday night’s win. He racked up those numbers in just 22:21 minutes on the court, where he was +13 in the plus/minus column. Bonga is showing impressive growth in Year Two under new head coach Pablo Laso, and his all-round performance against Virtus is evidence of his crucial role for the German club.

### Andjusic's silent contribution for Partizan

Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade rallied late before fighting off Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens for a 92-87 overtime win. At first glance, [Danilo Andjusic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/danilo-andjusic/000956/) was not among the main protagonists – that was saved for Kevin Punter, Zach LeDay, P.J. Dozier and Bruno Caboclo. Instead, Andjusic finished the game with just 2 points, making 1 of his 4 shots from the floor. However, he pulled down a team-high and a career-high 8 rebounds, including a key offensive board in overtime which led to his reverse layup for his only points of the game. And even though he did not have a single assist or steal in his 25 minutes on the floor, Andjusic had +25 in the plus/minus column, the second-highest by any Partizan player this season, earning unprompted praise from head coach Zeljko Obradovic: "Look at Andjusic, 2 points and we were +25 with him on the floor. He did not make the shots? So what? He grabbed a rebound when it was the most important."

Laprovittola was unstoppable from long range, making a career-high 8 three-pointers on 10 attempts. What’s more, Laprovittola became the first Barcelona player this century to make 8 triples in a game, beating the previous club record of 7, which was shared between Kyle Kuric and Gianluca Basile. What made the night even more impressive was the second half, during which Laprovittola attempted 6 triples and made all 6. He finished the game tying a career-best 28 points and also dished 9 assists. Barcelona outscored ASVEL by 28 points when Laprovittola was on the floor in what was a very memorable night for the Argentine guard.

### Zvezda's Yago took another big step forward

Markus Howard and Chima Moneke both had big games and sparked a big turnaround against Valencia Basket, as Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz continued its magical run since the return of Dusko Ivanovic as head coach.

Bragging rights are at stake as Valencia attempt to end a four–game losing slump with a Spanish derby against Baskonia, which is also eager to return to winning ways after suffering a late loss to Monaco. This game has plenty of significance as it will break a tie between two teams on the playoff fringes.

### Baskonia went to another level

Baskonia trailed by 12 points at times in the first half and gave up 52 points in the first 20 minutes, before holding the hosts to just 32 points in the second half.

“We took care of business in the second half. In the first half they got off to a great start. They fed off their fans’ energy. They wreaked havoc on the defensive end, caused us into some turnovers,” said Howard, who drained 6 three-pointers in the game after not scoring at all in the first quarter.

“In the second half we corrected some errors, played the right way, executed and made the right plays when it counted.”

For Coach Ivanovic, he believes that leaning on Howard’s ability to light it up can make life easier for the rest of his teammates and give Baskonia a spark.

“Markus made some incredible shots and we took advantage of that. After that it was easier to play,” commented Ivanovic after guiding his team to a fifth win in six games since taking over as playcaller.

“\[The 5-1 record with him as coach\] goes to the players. They want to play, they want to work hard. This is the result.”

### Moneke is Ivanovic’s warrior on the court

Moneke, meanwhile, said the 66-year-old coach deserves the credit for the team’s better play of late.

"We are a competitive team and we believe we can win every game. Dusko is the reason for that. We’re bought in,” said Moneke, who struggled in the first half at La Fonteta.

“No matter what happens in the first quarter or the first half, the game is not over until it’s over. We believe. We have character and we’ll continue to believe.”

The power forward was held to just 4 points in Baskonia’s loss last week against AS Monaco and he only had 2 points in the first 20 minutes against Valencia. But Moneke, who was averaging 16.4 points coming into the game, tallied 17 points after the intermission.

“I am scoring pretty well now, so teams are focused on me like that. At the start of the season, it was different,” admitted the 27-year-old, who is flourishing in his second EuroLeague season.

“So I am learning how to adjust my game and pick my spots better. I feel like when I am on the court, I impact the game in more ways that just scoring.”

### Howard showed why he is such a threat

Just like Moneke, Howard said he is also learning to let his teammates handle the game and just pick his spots to change the game.

“I just let the game come to me. Whatever the game calls for, I have to go with the flow of the game. I am trying to work on that,” Howard noted.

“I have a great group of guys around me who handle their business. I’m fortunate enough to have teammates who trust in my abilities. But they are extremely talented in their own rights. They got us off to a great start. My name was called and I just wanted to be ready.”

The guard showed exactly what he can do, scoring 12 points in just 2:26 minutes late in the second quarter to keep Baskonia within reach of Valencia.

Howard did not cool off during halftime and went on to hit back-to-back triples early in the second half. He ended up not scoring again the rest of the third quarter, as he found himself on the bench in foul trouble.

The game was knotted at 70-70 with about 8 minutes to play when Howard knocked down 2 more three-pointers within 74 seconds to spark a 2-13 spurt and essentially decide the game.

And with that, Baskonia continued its magic with Coach Ivanovic on the sidelines.

There was no stopping FC Barcelona on Friday night, and LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco summed it up the best after the game.

"I am sad, because we played an unbelievable game against a team which also played unbelievable. They shot 65.4% on three-point shots," commented the Italian tactician.

Barcelona made 17 of its 26 three-pointers, led by Nicolas Laprovittola. The Argentine guard shot an incredible 8-of-10 from behind-the-arc, a new club record, including 6-of-6 in the second half en route to tying his career-best total of 28 points.

### A small group caused the damage

What was unusual about Barcelona's three-point feat is that only five different players connected from long range in this contest.

Jabari Parker went 3-of-3, while Oscar Da Silva, Nikola Kalinic and Tomas Satornasky each made 2 triples apiece.

In addition to all that magic from three-point territory, the hosts also converted on 69.0% of their two-point attempts behind big men Jan Vesely and Willy Hernangomez.

Barcelona hit 17 three-pointers against ASVEL

Even though Barcelona had balance, scoring 50 points in the first half and 51 in the second, the way it got to those tallies was different.

Barcelona was an outstanding 14-of-17 (82.4%) on two-pointers in the first half. In the second, the hosts were 11-of-15 from three-point range and made their first 6 attempts from deep in the third quarter.

### Breaking the 100-point barrier

It all led to Barcelona reaching 100 or more points for the first time this season, and for the first time in a non-overtime game since November 2020. The home fans waited even longer, since October 2019, to see Barcelona score in triple digits.

And even though Barcelona's defense left a lot to be desired, the offense led to the team's ninth win of the season as we head into a busy December.

Saski Baskonia flipped the script at La Fonteta in a game of two halves

Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz showed two sides of itself in the same game on Friday night. After a disappointing first half on the road at Valencia Basket, Baskonia came out and dominated the second [en route to an 84-98 road victory](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/news/euroleague-live-blog-valencia-basket-vs-saski-baskonia/) in Round 11 of the 2023-24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.

Dusko Ivanovic’s side gave up 52 first-half points to the lowest-scoring team in the EuroLeague, with Valencia having come into this game averaging just 72.9 points. However, following the halftime interval, Baskonia turned up its aggressiveness and allowed just 32 points after the break. This victory secured its fifth win in six games and saw it improve to a 6-5 record.

“This was two games in one game for my team. The first 20 minutes was one team with a different style of playing offense and defense. In the second half we definitely had more aggressiveness, played good defense, patience on offense,” commented Coach Ivanovic, who has guided the team to a 5-1 record since taking over mid-season.

### Baskonia’s offense flipped the switch

At the same time, Valencia was the second-best defense in the EuroLeague, giving up just 74.8 points per game. But Baskonia blew by that with a season-high 98 points, surpassing the 94 points it scored in a home win over FC Barcelona in Round 8.

“We took care of business in the second half. In the first half they got off to a great start. They fed off their fans’ energy. They wreaked havoc on the defensive end, caused us into some turnovers,” said Markus Howard, who paced Baskonia with 24 points including 6 three-pointers.

“In the second half we corrected some errors, played the right way, executed and made the right plays when it counted.”

### Baskonia improved its percentages

Baskonia had been struggling shooting the ball coming into the game, hitting just 51.2% on two-pointers and 34.6% from long range, ranking 15th and 14th, respectively.

But that was drastically better against Valencia as Ivanovic’s team made 67.6% on two-pointers and 40.7% on three-pointers. The latter number was all the more impressive considering Valencia had been holding its opponents to a second-best 30.9% on three-pointers.

After the halftime break, Dusko Ivanovic’s men outscored Alex Mumbru’s squad 32-54.

At halftime on Friday evening, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade was staring at what would have been another costly home defeat as it trailed 43-49 to Anadolu Efes Istanbul in a fast-paced Round 11 clash. The visitors looked well and truly in control, with Shane Larkin pulling the strings on offense and Will Clyburn firing on all cylinders.

In addition, new signing Mike Daum rifled in 10 quickfire points for Efes in less than 5 minutes on the court after coming off the bench in the second quarter. A raucous home crowd had gone quiet in the wake of the Efes onslaught.

### Nedovic swung the momentum

It all changed in the third quarter, when Zvezda’s prolific shooting guard Nemanja Nedovic took the game by the scruff of the neck. The 32-year-old poured in 14 points in the period, mixing audacious three-pointers with sizzling drives to the basket as Zvezda turned the tide and took a 70-63 lead.

“We really needed this win and I am very happy that we got it,” Nedovic said in a flash courtside interview. “Everybody stepped up today, especially in the second half. We did a good job at both ends of the floor, so let’s build on this.”

### Rebounds became important, too

Efes had cut the deficit to 72-70 at the end of the third quarter but Zvezda simply had more left in the tank down the stretch, as Luka Mitrovic and Joel Bolomboy dominated the paint in the home straight, with the hosts going on to win 97-83.

Zvezda controlled the boards as it racked up 43 rebounds, 13 of them offensive, while Efes managed a mere 26.

“We were more focused defensively in the second half and to me the most important thing is that the whole team fought hard for this win,” said Zvezda’s head coach Ioannis Sfairopulous. “Offensively we had a very good game throughout, but the key was stepping up our defense in the second half,” he added at the post-game press conference.

“We played a very talented team which knows how to win tough games. We kept the turnovers down after committing 11 in the first half and we had only 3 in the second. Last but not least, I want to thank our fans for their fantastic support,” Sfairopoulos stressed.

Zvezda hope for a quick recovery from a heavy humbling at the hands of Milan by overcoming an Efes squad which is finding its groove with three wins out of four. The hosts have focus on improving its perimeter defense, particularly against Shane Larkin, who's drained 10 triples in his last three games.

### Nedovic got the better of Larkin

Nedovic finished on a game-high 23 points, shooting 4-of-7 from three-point range, 3-of-6 from inside the arc and 5-of-5 from the foul line, and emerged as the game’s top performer after a mature display. When the chips were down, he got the better of Shane Larkin, who netted 21 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the floor.

“Nedovic’s scoring streak was crucial, Yago \[Dos Santos\] was excellent at both ends of the court, but overall it was a team victory,” said Sfairopoulos.

“This team has great talent on offense but today defense was the key. My priority is always how to improve the team defensively and make it more consistent.”

The latter contest pits the Serbian side against its former coach, Dusko Ivanovic, who was dismissed by Zvezda after a 1-3 start to the campaign but soon returned to Baskonia for a fourth stint.

Efes is at home to Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens in Round 12, with the Turkish club’s iconic former coach, Ergin Ataman, facing an emotional return to Istanbul after clinching back-to-back titles with Efes in 2021 and 2022. Efes then visits ALBA Berlin in Round 13.
