The final round of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season arrives with many scenarios still to be settled, including the final playoff spots still up for grabs, not to mention the order at the top of the standings. Here's your quick guide to Round 34.

Round 34: Plenty on the line in regular-season finales

### [Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade vs. Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/crvena-zvezda-meridianbet-belgrade-fenerbahce-beko-istanbul/E2022/298/)

Zvezda (16-17) will look to finish with a 50-50 win-loss record and please its ever-loyal fans by downing a Fenerbahce (19-14) team that could finish anywhere between fifth and ninth place. A victory would be enough to seal that fifth slot, whereas defeat would leave the Turkish powerhouse hoping that at least one of Baskonia or Zalgiris loses. To keep matters in its own hands, Fenerbahce will need to somehow put the brakes on Zvezda's all-Argentine backcourt threat of Facundo Campazzo and Luca Vildoza.

After a decent run of form with three wins in the last five games, ALBA (10-23) will aim for another victory against an ASVEL team (8-25) that knows it can only finish at the bottom of the standings after losing 12 games in a row. ALBA has already beaten the French team once this season, triumphing 79-91 on the road in December on the back of 21 points from Jaleen Smith. He also drained 4 triples in last week's victory over Panathinaikos, which ensured that ALBA will not finish the season with the wooden spoon.

 

### [Olympiacos Piraeus vs. Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/olympiacos-piraeus-cazoo-baskonia-vitoria-gasteiz/E2022/300/)

Baskonia (18-15) faces the huge challenge of gaining the win it needs to secure a playoffs place by traveling to league leader Olympiacos (23-10), which can wrap up top seed status for the postseason by claiming a home victory. Baskonia would be eliminated with a defeat and a Zalgiris victory, and will look to avoid that scenario by relying on the playmaking abilities of Darius Thompson, who excelled with 23 points and 12 assists in last week's record-setting 120-100 victory over ASVEL.

### [Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv vs. Real Madrid](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/maccabi-playtika-tel-aviv-real-madrid/E2022/301/)

Two teams heading for the playoffs meet in a potential dress rehearsal for the postseason as Maccabi (19-13) hosts Real (23-10). Maccabi, which has won five in a row at the Menora Mivtachim Arena, could finish anywhere between fifth and eighth place, whereas the Spanish team could end up first, second or third. Maccabi will have revenge on its mind after suffering a humiliating lost, 98-65, when the teams met in the Spanish capital in January, when Real knocked down 18 three-pointers.

### [Virtus Segafredo Bologna vs. EA7 Emporio Armani Milan](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/virtus-segafredo-bologna-ea7-emporio-armani-milan/E2022/302/)

It might be meaningless in terms of playoffs qualification, but there will still be plenty of devotion on display and pride to play for as Virtus (13-20) and Milan (15-18) finish the regular season with an Italian derby. Virtus won 59-64 when the teams met in Milan in November, holding Ettore Messina's men to just 5 three-point conversions on 20 attempts, with Milos Teodosic matching that output at the other end with 5 triples of his own.

### [Anadolu Efes Istanbul vs. AS Monaco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/anadolu-efes-istanbul-as-monaco/E2022/303/)

Eliminated back-to-back champ Efes (16-17) will look to overcome its disappointment at missing out on the playoffs in Friday's opening tip-off by downing fourth-placed Monaco (21-12), the only team in the top eight that has no chance of either improving or worsening its final position in the standings. Monaco leads the league in offensive rebounding with an average of 12.3 per game, and will look for extra possessions against an Efes team which ranks last in that category with just 8.0 offensive boards per night.

### [FC Bayern Munich vs. Zalgiris Kaunas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/fc-bayern-munich-zalgiris-kaunas/E2022/306/)

Zalgiris (18-15) will know heading into the game the results of Fenerbahce and Baskonia's games on Thursday, and therefore if its chances of reaching the playoffs remain alive. If either of the other two have lost, Zalgiris can punch its ticket to the postseason with a victory in Munich. Host Bayern (11-22) will look to end an injury-hit campaign on a high note by ending a six-game losing run, but will have to work hard for its points against a Zalgiris defense that limited free-scoring Maccabi to just 67 points in a vital win last week.

### [FC Barcelona vs. Valencia Basket](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/fc-barcelona-valencia-basket/E2022/304/)

Barcelona (22-11) ends the regular season by hosting a Spanish east coast derby against a Valencia (15-18) team that would love to end the regular season by ending a five-game and two-month losing sequence on the road. Barca will hope to finish in second place by pairing a victory with a loss for Real, and also has the incentive of bouncing back from last week's loss at Milan. That game saw Saras Jasikevicius's men convert just 13 of 35 two-point attempts, and they will look for much better interior play against their domestic rival.

 

### [Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade vs. Panathinaikos Athens](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/game-center/2022-23/partizan-mozzart-bet-belgrade-panathinaikos-athens/E2022/305/)

Playoffs-bound Partizan (19-14) will attempt to give itself a chance of finishing as high as fifth by overcoming a visiting Panathinaikos (11-22) team that only has pride to play for. Partizan is looking to head into the playoffs on a high note by maintaining the free-scoring form that has led to impressive victories over high-flying Monaco, Real Madrid and Olympiacos in the last three weeks. Aleksa Avramovic shone with 22 points in last week's triumph over Monaco and will look to again show the depth of options available to coach Zeljko Obradovic.

### Stellar Campazzo fueled Zvezda against the leaders

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade might have learned last week that it had been officially eliminated from the playoff race, but that did not stop the Serbian giant from knocking off the league-leading Olympiacos Piraeus 87-79 on Thursday. Zvezda was able to get the victory thanks in large part to the inspirational play of [Facundo Campazzo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/facundo-campazzo/005928/). In 29 minutes on the floor, he led the team with 20 points, 8 assists and 5 steals, which matched his career high. Campazzo was particularly impressive in the second half, as he made all 5 of his steals after the break and also scored 12 points. He finished with 6-of-9 shooting from the field, paving the way for Zvezda to grab its 16th win of the season.

LeDay went to the charity stripe a total of 14 times on the night, which is by far the most free throws that he has attempted in a game this season. Prior to Round 33, his best mark was the 8-for-8 he made against Anadolu Efes Istanbul in Round 29. What's more, LeDay kept his cool at the line in the final 1:39 against Monaco, sinking all 6 of his free throws.

Avramovic, who missed the first half of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season due to a serious hand injury, shined in Friday’s 84-88 win at AS Monaco, which sent the 1992 champion into the playoffs with a game to spare.

A season which started in anguish for Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade’s Aleksa Avramovic has finally delivered a handsome reward for the hard-working point guard. Avramovic, who missed the first half of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season due to a serious hand injury, shined in Friday’s 84-88 win at AS Monaco, which sent the 1992 champion into the playoffs with a game to spare.

Partizan will soon get to taste postseason basketball for the first time since 2010, when the Serbian team reached the Final Four and lost both of its games at the showcase event in Paris.

"Avramovic surprised us. He had an extraordinary game," Monaco head coach Sasa Obradovic admitted after Partizan's Round 33 victory at Salle Gaston Medecin.

Nevertheless, it has been a long road back for Avramovic. The 28-year-old's ordeal started last August during Serbia’s build-up for EuroBasket 2022, where it was knocked out in the Round of 16 by Italy. The point guard from the central city of Cacak was helpless as he watched the fiasco unfold from afar.

He returned to action in mid-December in Partizan’s dramatic 72-73 road win at Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, when he nailed the game-winning free throw to leave the home crowd at Ulker Sports and Event Hall stunned.

With the likes of Kevin Punter, Yam Madar and Dante Exum comprising one of the EuroLeague's strongest backcourts, Avramovic always faced stiff competition for minutes on the court in games against Europe’s elite clubs.

His way back to full fitness was painstaking, but against Monaco, Avramovic delivered one of his best performances in a Partizan jersey. With Exum, Punter and Madar stifled out by a physical Monaco team, Avramovic stepped up to the plate in grand style, pouring 22 points to go with 3 assists as he tore apart a stingy home defense with a wide variety of weapons.

Avramovic mixed three-pointers with dazzling drives to the basket and cool shooting from the foul line, lifting Partizan back into the game after an early 12-2 deficit. He then kept the visitors ahead in the third quarter in the wake of a fierce Monaco onslaught and finally forced the final twist alongside Zach LeDay, who also scored 22 points, after the hosts had turned the tide.

Avramovic stressed in a post-game interview that the win was a result of a cohesive team effort. He also pointed out the possibility that Partizan could lock horns with Monaco again in the playoffs. The French side is assured of finishing fourth at the end of the regular season after next week’s Round 34, while Partizan could finish fifth if it beats Panathinaikos Athens at home, although that possibility is dependent on other results.

“We’ve secured a playoff berth and depending on how the results pan out in the last round, it seems we could even finish the regular season in fifth place and face Monaco again in the playoffs,” Avramovic noted. “It was a great team effort and we were focused, even though we didn’t play so well in the opening five minutes. We made some shots and played good defense against a very good and talented team. We knew that we’d have to be at our best to beat a team with so much potential, and that’s how we made it into the top eight.”

Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade sealed its spot in the 2023 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs with an 84-88 road win at AS Monaco on Friday, and the visitors were roared on by a sizeable contingent of travelling fans, including a distinguished Serbian compatriot and his family: Novak Djokovic.

While the die-hard Partizan fans relentlessly cheered on their team from the upper tiers of Salle Gaston Medecin, Serbia’s favorite son, Djokovic, the winner of 22 Grand Slam titles and the men’s world tennis number one, took a front row seat with his family as he attended the enthralling contest.

Unlike most other Partizan fans, largely expats who trekked from across Europe, it was a short trip for Djokovic – who resides in Monaco. An avid basketball fan and a frequent visitor at EuroLeague games whenever his busy schedule on the ATP Tour permits, Djokovic has never hidden his allegiance to Partizan’s fierce city rival, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade.

On Friday night, though, the ever-patriotic Djokovic revealed he would always force the fierce rivalry between Serbia’s big two to take a back seat for a greater good, while putting family bragging rights aside, too.

“I always support Partizan, except when it plays Zvezda. I am a Zvezda fan but, of course, I will always support a Serbian club. My son Stefan loves and supports Partizan, so we now attend its games too,” Djokovic told Serbia’s Sport Klub television during the game.

“Serbia is basketball country, it’s the most popular sport in our homeland,” he added. Djokovic made the comments at halftime with Partizan 35-42 ahead, and he was delighted at the end of the contest when he also spoke to EuroLeague TV.

“Amazing. Amazing atmosphere, amazing game all the way to the end,” he said. “Partizan was playing really good – most of the match they were leading – and then Monaco showed why they are one of the strongest teams in the EuroLeague this season. It was so close. A crucial three-pointer by Kevin Punter there towards the end. Amazing fans, I'm really glad for a Serbian team to go through into the top eight. It's been many years that none of the Serbian teams were able to get to the top eight, so congrats to them."

There's a chance that Partizan could end up returning to Monaco in the playoffs, depending on how things pan out after Round 34's action, and Djokovic has made clear that he would be ready to cheer on Zeljko Obradovic's side once again if that were to happen: "Exactly, yeah. If that happens, hopefully I'll get a chance to see it live once again."
