Nemanja Nedovic – as he did in the first-ever EuroLeague Belgrade derby – became the hero for KK Crvena zvezda by scoring the points that won the game against KK Partizan, with Ioannis Sfairopoulos's men downing Zeljko Obradovic's side 71-73.

Never before has the Belgrade derby taken place this deep into the regular season, but Nemanja Nedovic – as he did in the first-ever Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Belgrade derby – became the hero for Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade by scoring the points that won the game against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade, with Ioannis Sfairopoulos's men downing Zeljko Obradovic's side 71-73.

This win improved Crvena Zvezda's record to 14-10 while Partizan dropped to 12-12. Partizan does hold the tiebreaker advantage, however, after winning by 12 points when they met back in Round 11.

Filip Petrusev led Crvena Zvezda in points with 17, followed by Joel Bolomboy with 14. Both players also pulled down 8 rebounds. Codi Miller-McIntyre paired 11 points with 6 assists for the winners. Carlik Jones was the only Partizan player to score in double figures, netting 20 points.

Roared on by 20,000 home fans in an immaculately fervent atmosphere, Partizan took an early 5-3 lead as Brandon Davies hit the ground running and lit up the stands in the cauldron of Belgrade Arena.

Galvanized by a pair of monster blocks, the Partizan crowd created an expectably unmatched atmosphere and Carlik Jones sank a deep two to keep the hosts in the driving seat, 10-7, midway through the first quarter.

Jones followed that up with a layup before Nikola Kalinic replied with a three off the dribble at the other end, setting the scene for a tit-for-tat battle. Zvezda edged ahead 14-18 with some tough plays as defense got ramped up at both ends of the floor.

Carlik Jones got Partizan and the crowd going again with a two-handed slam but Zvezda managed to keep the upper hand at the end of the first quarter, 18-21, as Partizan threw the ball away for a turnover in its final possession.

Partizan head coach Zeljko Obradovic called a timeout 40 seconds into the second quarter as the hosts continued to turn the ball over but Zvezda kept returning the favor, allowing Partizan to stay in touch.

Thriving on good work from big men Joel Bolomboy and Filip Petrusev, Zvezda was able to say ahead until Arijan Lakic propelled Partizan into a 27-26 lead with a delightful drive to the basket. Another monster block from Tyrique Jones on Isaiah Canaan followed by a Sterling Brown baseline jumper made the atmosphere reach fever pitch.

Another layup by Lakic made the score 33-33 with 3:30 minutes left in the first half as the titanic tussle carried on relentlessly, Serbia’s eternal rivals resembling a pair of heavyweights trading punches in a boxing ring.

A lovely drive by Canaan produced a three-point play as Zvezda’s livewire guard drew a foul too and then taunted the home fans, giving th visitors a 35-38 lead with 84 seconds left in the second quarter.

Zvezda finished the first half on a high as Codi Miller-McIntyre ripped through Partizan’s defense for a pair of successive layups, giving Zvezda a thoroughly deserved 37-42 lead at the interval.

Carlik Jones opened his second half account with a lovely drive, with baskets becoming increasingly difficult in the wake of aggressive defense at both ends of the floor. Dejan Davidovac replied for Zvezda before Jones sank a triple to raise the decibel level through the roof, as Partizan closed in to 42-45.

The fired-up Jones made another one before Filip Petrusev tipped in an offensive board at the other end, keeping Zvezda in the driving seat midway through the third quarter of a strength-sapping matchup.

Roared on by support so frenetic it would send a chill down any opposition’s spine, Carlik Jones continued to do his thing and sank a long three after nailing a pair of free throws to give Partizan a 51-49 advantage with under four minutes left in the third.

Clearly rattled, Zvezda was struggling on offense as it seemed bereft of ideas against an ironclad Partizan defense but Rokas Giaedraitis managed to flush down a layup and Miller-McIntyre followed up with a jumper before Joel Bolomboy denied Iffe Lundberg with a huge block at the other end.

Miller-McIntyre buried two more from the foul line to give resilient Zvezda a 53-55 lead ahead of the final 10 minutes, as Jones fired a wayward three-pointer on the third quarter’s buzzer.

Petrusev carried on for Zvezda with a big dunk in the opening play of the fourth and that seemed to spur both teams into some high quality offensive action, with the visitors holding a 60-63 advantage with 6:26 minutes left on the clock.

Petrusev then profited from a barrage of Zvezda’s offensive rebounds in a single possession to extend the lead with a three-point play, forcing Obradovic to call another time out as he also silenced the home crowd’s deafening roar.

Partizan, refused to roll over and clawed its way back with a 5-0 run before an Isaac Bonga triple levelled the score at 68-68, only for Bolomboy to make a three-point play in Zvezda’s next possession. A dramatic finished ensued as Bonga sank a pair of free throws before Tyrique Jones missed a chance to swing the lead Partizan’s way when he charged into a Zvezda defender.

Zvezda was running an empty on offense, though, allowing the hosts yet another steal which ultimately led to more free throws for Carlik Jones, who made one of two to tie the score 71-71 with 69 seconds left.

In a heart-stopping finish to regulation time, Brown clattered into Zvezda’s Nemanja Nedovic one second before the buzzer and the point guard made no mistake from the line, sinking two of three shots from the line to give his team a priceless win.

But despite being ahead from the fourth minute, when [Sertac Sanli](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/sertac-sanli/002968/) scored the first three-pointer of the game, Fenerbahce had to fight until the fourth quarter to get rid of Virtus, which despite missing [Ante Zizic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/ante-zizic/004554/) and [Will Clyburn](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/will-clyburn/004888/) found a weapon of mass destruction in [Toko Shengelia](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tornike-shengelia/001133/).

The Georgian forward sustained the Italian team’s offense thanks to a career-high 35 points after shooting 10 for 14 from two, 2 for 3 from behind the arc, and 9 for 10 from the line, good for a career-best PIR of 39.

But Fenerbahce found an accurate response for that jaw-dropping display – it came from several players but from the same place: the three-point line.

The hosts finished with 17 three-pointers made from 29 attempts (58.6% 3FG), with 15 of them coming in the last three periods and 11 in the second half. Three in row were good to solidify a double-digit lead right after the intermission, and another spurt in the last quarter sealed the outcome, 89-70, less than 3 minutes before the end.

“I think we did some things that we didn't do in the first two quarters,” Coach Jasikevicius recognized after the game. “I thought we moved the ball better. I thought we found the outside passes, so then the three-point shots, a lot more than in the first half.

“In the first half, it was five or six turnovers when we were passing the ball inside. Then we moved the ball better and find more shots and like we always say everything looks much better when you hit the three-point shots.”

“I didn’t know that,” Guduric admitted. “I mean, we just had good energy from the start. I’m happy for my teammates. Bonzie was really good in the first quarter, in the first half, getting offensive rebounds, \[and providing\] great energy. Arturs made shots, Tarik made a couple, too. Nicolo, Sertac, of course.

“Yeah, it was a great team win, and like you said, 20 assists is a good number.”

The hosts had to resist against Toko Shengelia’s career game in scoring, but better accuracy from the three-point line allowed them to keep their opponents at arm's length for almost the whole game. Fenerbahce improved to 16-7 while Virtus slipped to an opposite record of 7-17. Marko Guduric led the winners with 17 points, Errick McCollum followed with 15, Bonzie Colson had 12 and Sertac Sanli finished with 11 on a perfect 3 of 3 from behind the arc. Toko Shengelia registered a career night thanks to a 35-point performance, good for a PIR of 39, also a career best for him. Isaia Cordinier scored 12 and Matt Morgan netted 11 in the losing effort.

There was no stopping Bayern’s offense at Zalgirio Arena as Gordie Herbert’s squad romped to an 82-97 victory at Zalgiris to kick off the Round 24 fun. This is the seventh time this season that Bayern has scored 97 points or more, and the second game in succession after grabbing an 84-99 win at ALBA last week. Bayern, riding a two-game winning streak, led by 12 entering the fourth was up by as many as 18 in the final 51 seconds. The German side improved to 14-10, while Zalgiris lost its third straight and is 1-7 over its last eight, with the team falling to an 11-13 mark. Nick Weiler-Babb starred with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists, Andreas Obst netted 8 threes en route to 26 points, and Carsen Edwards finished with 24. Devin Booker netted 13, too. Sylvain Francisco scored a career-high 33 points in a losing effort.

Tamir Blatt had 16 points and 9 assists against his former team and Roman Sorkin added 14 points in defeat.

For ASVEL, Andre Roberson led all scorers with 20 points on 6-for-8 three-point shooting and Theo Maledon combined his 18 points with 6 assists.

Milan celebrated an impressive 87-75 home win over reigning champion Panathinaikos and improved to 13-11 in the EuroLeague, with Zach LeDay pouring in a career-high 33 points for the Italian side. Despite missing its top scorer Nikola Mirotic, Milan snapped a two-game skid and recovered superbly from last week’s 110-66 fiasco at Anadolu Efes Istanbul, as LeDay produced a spectacular display in Europe’s premier club competition. Nico Mannion chipped in with 14 points for Milan, Freddie Gillespie added 11 and Shavon Shields scored 10 for the home team, which trampled Panathinaikos after nosing ahead 17-16 at the end of the first quarter behind airtight defense. At the other end, Kostas Sloukas paced Panathinaikos with 22 points, Kendrick Nunn netted 18 and Cedi Osman amassed 12, but the support cast misfired all over as the Greens sorely missed injured big men Mathias Lessort and Omer Yurtseven, long-term casualties who’ve been sidelined by serious injuries.

Chima Moneke led the winners with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Trent Forrest added 15 points, including the game-winning shot with 0.5 seconds remaining. Chimezie Metu paced Barca with 14 points and Kevin Punter added 13 for the visitors.

AS Monaco outlasted Real Madrid in a defensive battle on Friday night, triumphing 77-73 after limiting the visitors to 34 second-half points. The hosts improved to 15-9 to take sole ownership of third place, while Real stays outside the top six at 13-11.

Monaco’s defense controlled the early stages, before Real hit a flurry of triples to move ahead, 36-39, at halftime. The home team retook the lead after the interval, Nick Calathes led Monaco’s offense with a double-double of 12 points and 10 assists, Matthew Strazel netted 13 points and Alpha Diallo added 10. Mario Hezonja led Real with 15 points but fouled out early in the fourth, while Sergio Llull scored 12, Andres Feliz had 11 and Walter Tavares scored 10.

Tavares dunked the opening basket, before Calathes answered with a pair of deep strikes. Alberto Abalde hit Real’s first triple, and Tavares netted again to make it 8-7. Mike James and Facu Campazzo exchanged driving layups, and Georgios Papagiannis dunked to keep Monaco ahead. Bruno Fernando scored his first basket for Real, but Diallo’s layups and 4 free throws from Strazel made it 20-13 after 10 minutes.

Feliz opened the second quarter with a determined bucket, but Terry Tarpey’s transition layup and Strazel’s three-ball kept the home team ahead. Another dunk for Tavares was bettered by James’s three-point play, making it 32-19. Real hit back through a pair of triples from Hezonja, before close-range finishes from Diallo and Jaron Blossomgame kept pushing Monaco. The visitors kept on firing from deep through Hugo Gonzalez and Llull, whose four-point play forced a lead change, 36-39, at the break.

An alley-oop from Papagiannis started the second half and Petr Cornelie scored 5 points in a row to send Monaco ahead, 43-42. A pair of Mam Jaiteh layups kept the host moving with a 9-0 run as Real failed to score a third quarter field goal until Hezonja’s skilled basket was followed by Feliz’s triple, tying it at 47-47. Jaiteh scored again, Tarpey added a corner three and Calathes’s layup made it 54-47. Hezonja hit another three and free throws brought Real level, but Donatas Motiejunas scored 5 points in a hurry to make it 59-56 after three quarters.

Feliz and Strazel drove for layups early in the fourth, before Diallo and Calathes gave Monaco a 66-60 lead as Hezonja was hit with a second and disqualifying technical foul. Llull’s three-point play boosted Real but Strazel hit another triple and Calathes’s floater made it 71-63 with 4 minutes left. James made it a double-digit game with a floater, and Motiejunas protected the lead from close range. Dzanan Musa’s layup and Campazzo’s triple gave Real hope, but James and Diallo sealed the deal from the foul line.

The Roca Team came out on top after a tight battle

Fenerbahce Beko grabbed its sixth straight win in the EuroLeague as it defeated the visiting Virtus Bologna at Ulker Sports and Event Hall on Friday evening, despite Toko Shengelia’s career game in scoring.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul grabbed its sixth straight win in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague as it defeated the visiting Virtus Segafredo Bologna at Ulker Sports and Event Hall on Friday evening. The hosts had to resist against Toko Shengelia’s career game in scoring, but better accuracy from the three-point line allowed them to keep their opponents at arm's length for almost the whole game. Fenerbahce improved to 16-7 while Virtus slipped to an opposite record of 7-17.

Marko Guduric led the winners with 17 points, Errick McCollum followed with 15, Bonzie Colson had 12 and Sertac Sanli finished with 11 on a perfect 3 of 3 from behind the arc. Toko Shengelia registered a career night thanks to a 35-point performance, good for a PIR of 39, also a career best for him. Isaia Cordinier scored 12 and Matt Morgan netted 11 in the losing effort.

A low-scoring start prevented the fans from watching more than a couple of successful offensive sets on each end in the first few minutes of the game. Sanli was the first one to hit from long range, granting an 8-6 edge for the home side, that Colson extended the advantage to 10-6 with a dunk off a steal soon after. Cordinier took over with a couple of nice buckets, but a poor shooting display, several turnovers and many fouls committed by the visitors allowed Fenerbahce to increase the gap to 19-11 after nine minutes. A late three by Nicolo Melli, the second for the hosts in the game, closed the first-quarter assault with the home team leading 22-13.

Fenerbahce built a double-digit advantage early in the second, as Nigel Hayes-Davis struck from downtown to make it 25-15. The visitors responded, as Morgan from outside and Shengelia inside teamed up to give Virtus a boost. The hosts remained hot from long range, with Tarik Biberovic, Guduric and Melli drilling a trey each to maintain a safe 10-point margin, 36-26. Shengelia geared up then with a couple of free throws and a corner three that reduced the gap to 36-33 and forced a Fenerbahce timeout. Even though the Georgian forward provided four more points after the game resumed, a couple of steals and a couple of offensive rebounds helped Fenerbahce regain a solid margin, 46 -37, at halftime.

Guduric got the hosts going after the intermission with a layup and a dish for Arturs Zagars's triple, which made it 51-40. Hayes-Davis followed with another of his own and Guduric showed up again from deep to get the home fans off their seats and set a 57-44 score midway through the third quarter. With Shengelia as the only reliable weapon on offense, Virtus managed to hold on thanks to a couple of offensive fouls drawn, good to keep the hosts in sight, 60-51. Sanli and Biberovic calmed things down again, though, with the former nailing back-to-back three-pointers and the latter completing a three-point play that gave Fenerbahce a 69-54 lead entering the last stanza.

Daniel Hackett and Shengelia got Virtus within 71-60 with seven minutes remaining. The distance didn’t shrink beyond that, as Guduric elevated from behind the arc and McCollum hit a mid-range jumper to keep Fenerbahce in charge, 76-62. Colson joined the shootout contest with another three and McCollum twice hit again to keep Fenerbahce hot, as Shengelia left the court with an already career night in scoring with 35 points and still four minutes to play. Despite Virtus managing to replace Shengelia’s scoring, the home team continued to punish the visitors from downtown, with two more coming from McCollum and Biberovic to seal the outcome, 89-72, entering crunch time.

The 27-year-old joined Fenerbahce in October and went on to play in 14 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games for the club, posting 3.7 points and 1.1 assists per night. His last appearance for the club came in Round 20.
