Real Madrid has added a weapon to its backcourt by signing Xavier Rathan-Mayes on a two-year deal.
Rathan-Mayes (1.93 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Enisey, having led the VTB United League in scoring last season with 25.4 points per game. He also ranked 10th with 4.5 assists per game and contributed 1.1 steals over 39 appearances with Enisey.
After playing college basketball at Florida State University, Rathan-Mayes has taveled the world as a professional. In addition to a stint in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies, he has also played in Greece (AEK Athens), Israel (Bnei Herzliya), Canada (Hamilton Honey Badgers and Scarborough Shooting Stars), Romania (CSU Sibiu), Turkey (Yukatel Merkezefendi), Australia (Illawarra Hawks and Melbourne United) and Russia (Enisey). He is set to make his EuroLeague debut this season with Real.
