After a thriller that came down to the final shot, Olympiacos Piraeus remained undefeated by downing Real Madrid 87-89 in the Spanish capital on Wednesday.
Sloukas, Vezenkov lead Olympiacos past Real



Kostas Sloukas made the game-winning shot with 3.0 seconds left. Sasha Vezenkov led the winners with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Sloukas added 14 points and 7 assists, Joel Bolomboy scored 11 points and Shaquielle McKissic 10 for Olympiacos. Dzanan Musa paced Real with 17 points. Sergio Llull and Walter Tavares each added 14, Guerschon Yabusele 13 and Petr Cornelie 11.

Thomas Walkup and Vezenkov joined forces to give Olympiacos its first lead, 16-18. Yabusele got help from Musa to put Los Blancos in charge, 21-20, after 10 minutes. Real's second unit, led by Vincent Poirier, Cornelie and Fabien Causeur, pushed their team to get a 38-31 lead near halftime. Vezenkov and Sloukas brought the Reds within 38-37 at halftime.
McKissic took over with a huge dunk-and-foul that tied it at 52-52. Vezenkov and Sloukas gave Olympiacos a 62-63 lead after 30 minutes. Llull struck three times from downtown for an 81-75 Real lead with 4 minutes left. Giannoulis Larentzakis rescued the Reds and Sloukas put Olympiacos in charge, 83-84. Llull tied the game again, 87-87, but Sloukas scored around the basket with 3.0 seconds left and Tavares missed a jump hook at the buzzer.
