Milan became the only visiting team to win at Palau Blaugrana in December, with 21 points from Devon Hall inspiring an 86-90 triumph. Barca has lost six of its last eight road games, most recently getting pumped 98-74 at Efes last week despite 18 points from Willy Hernangomez. Inconsistent Milan is also coming off a damaging loss, suffering a late collapse to lose 84-72 at Valencia. That game featured the debut of new signing Rodney McGruder and the veteran guard will look to impose himself on Tomas Satoransky on Friday.

- Mirotic and Barcelona center Willy Hernangomez were teammates at Real Madrid during the 2012-13 season. They reached the 2013 championship game together. The two were also teammates on the Spanish national team with which they won the gold medal at EuroBasket 2015 and bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics.
- Barcelona's Alex Abrines also won the 2016 Olympic bronze alongside Mirotic and Hernangomez.
- Barcelona guard Nicolas Laprovittola was a teammate of Milan big man Johannes Voigtmann at Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz during the second part of the 2016-17 season.
