All eyes will be on Monaco ace Mike James, who needs just 12 points to overtake Vassilis Spanoulis as the competition's all-time leading scorer. James made the difference when the teams met in Round 3, with his double-double of 18 points and 11 assists helping to overcome 20 points from Rokas Giedraitis to secure a 76-82 road win for Monaco. Zvezda big men Joel Bolomboy and LukaMitrovic will also have to battle in the paint to control Donta Hall and Donatas Moteijunas, who each played a big role in Monaco's epic win at Barcelona last week.
- Monaco has won four of the five EuroLeague meetings between the two sides, including both in Monaco, each by an 8-point margin.
- The two teams also played in the 2018-19 EuroCup in which they split road wins. Monaco's Yakuba Ouattara and Zvezda's Branko Lazic are the only players still on the rosters from those games.
- Monaco head coach Sasa Obradovic coached Crvena Zvezda for the first part of the 2020-21 season. He is a Zvezda club legend; he grew up there and had three stints as a player between 1987 and 2000.
- Monaco guard Jordan Loyd spent the 2020-21 season with Zvezda, where he finished the season ranked third in the league in scoring with 17.3 points per game.

- Last season when he visited Zvezda in a Virtus Segafredo Bologna uniform, Mam Jaiteh had a career-high PIR of 27 in an 83-74 loss.
