EA7 Emporio Armani Milan teammates Maodo Lo and Kyle Hines sat down side by side for the fifth edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague’s ‘Draw Your Teammate’ challenge.

Some people are better artists than others and that is certainly the case with Lo and Hines, who opted to take different approaches towards drawing one another. Make sure to buckle up, because you’re bound to have a smile on your face after watching this video! Welcome to the "Hines and Lo Art Show"!

Hines starts off by saying that his daughter is great at this, and that he's been around crayons and paints for a long time.

"I am expecting something good!" Lo says.

We'll find out real soon.

Both players engage in an interesting conversation about kids, art, creativity and Lo's mom career while they get busy on the white board.

"Was art your favorite subject in school?" Hines asks.

"Actually, it wasn't man," Lo answers."My mother is actually an artist (...) That's the reason I was chosen to do this!"

After a few minutes, it's time to check the results!

"That's actually really good!" Hines laughs while sounding genuinely impressed.

"I tried to emphasize the strength, you know?" Lo explains.

Nigel Hayes-Davis, Fenerbahce: 'Be the best Nigel'

Since Nigel Hayes-Davis made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut in 2019-20 with Zalgiris Kaunas, he always stood out as one of the players with the most potential in the league. In his fifth season in the competition, having also played for FC Barcelona and now defending the jersey of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, his progression has shown no sign of slowing down, even setting a new individual single-game scoring record with 50 points in Round 32 against ALBA Berlin.

Hayes-Davis is a prominent figure who has a strong presence on social media, in addition to being a vegan, an animal lover and, most of all, a basketball player who loves his job and who wants to put it to good use to help others whenever he can.

"\[Being a basketball player\] is one of two jobs, I think, in the world that everyone would want to do," Hayes-Davis explains. "And the other being a famous musician."

His dedication to the game and to taking care of himself so he can be in top condition have made him become one of the best forwards in the EuroLeague. He also likes to communicate with fans through social media, and that led to a new path in his life: being a cat dad.

### Hayes-Davis and his cat, Sly

When a cat gave birth to four kittens in the VIP Room of Ulker Sports and Event Hall, Hayes-Davis made sure to go visit them before every home game, as fans urged him to make it become a good-luck ritual. When the kittens were old enough, Hayes-Davis decided to adopt one of them – Sly.

"Everybody knows I love cats, so it was an opportunity for me to become a pet father for the first time," Hayes-Davis says. "I'm very nervous, I am not going to lie!"

Hayes-Davis and Sly have become inseparable and the cat has even become something of a social media star through the player's Instagram account.

In this video, Hayes-Davis also reflects on the path he has travelled since his days as a high-school player until now in Turkiye. This reflection made him put together a free basketball campus in his high school for children that do not have the same opportunities as other kids.

"All the parents will come to you and tell you, 'Thanks for doing this for my kid,'" Hayes-Davis explains. "It's not to be the best forward in Europe. It's to be the best Nigel."

Laurynas Birutis, Zalgiris: ‘Paulius Jankunas was one of my biggest inspirations’

Zalgiris Kaunas center Laurynas Birutis has gone to another level during the 2023-24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, with the 26-year-old looking to follow the footsteps of the many legends that have suited up for the Lithuanian side.

Having come through Zalgiris’s famed academy, Birutis went on a few loan spells and spent a couple of years in Spain before returning home in 2022. Now, he is eager to leave his mark at Zalgirio Arena.

“I grew up in this system \[and\] I spent three years in the second team,” Birutis comments. “Young kids come from the basketball school, then they go to the third team, then the second team, so for them – and also for me – it’s a big honor to play here because everybody dreams to one day step on the court wearing the first-team jersey.”

Like many Lithuanians, Birutis was able to see many of his heroes wearing the famous green jersey when he was growing up. In particular, Paulius Jankunas was a player that the current Zalgiris big man looked to base his game on.

“Everybody knows the history here. When \[Arvydas\] Sabonis was playing here, Tanoka Beard, Jankunas, all of our big players for Lithuania, also foreigners, so they inspire a lot \[of people\],” he says.

“I think Jankunas was one of \[my\] biggest inspirations. He’s special because he was the captain, he was here for a very long time. I think inspired a lot of people – the way he played, what kind of teammate he was.”

One of the keys to Birutis’s improvement this season has been the arrival of Andrea Trinchieri as head coach, with the Lithuania international posting career highs in points, rebounds and PIR.

“He has the hands of a piano player,” Trinchieri states. “Great touch. He’s a good player, he has a feel for the game.

“He has to improve his physical strength. It’s not easy with that size. He works hard with the conditioning coach to get some strength and weight, but it’s not the easiest thing.

“Maybe he should eat more pasta, so I will try to cook pasta for him. But I believe he can become a weapon.”

The 2.13-meter center is quickly becoming a hero for the club’s fans.
