Both teams finished their respective group plays in undefeated fashion, with Maccabi surprising 2016 continental champion U18 FC Barcelona to grab the top spot in Group A. The other action Sunday has Barcelona facing U18 Next Generation Team Patras for third place; U18 ZPA Tbilisi playing U18 Helsinki Basketball Academy for fifth place; and U18 Olympiacos Piraeus taking on host side U18 Promitheas Patras for seventh place.

U18 Next Generation Team Patras picked up its first victory at the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Patras as it rolled past host team U18 Promitheas Patras 94-56 in Group B. NGP used a 16-3 run in the first quarter to take control and never let up in moving to 1-1 as it held Promitheas to 31.9% on two-point shots and 23.5% on three-pointers. Ben Saraf led NGP in scoring with 19 points, Konstantinos Lagos and Alexandros Samontourov both scored 15 points, Pacome Dadiet had 10 points and Peteris Pinnis added 6 points and 11 rebounds. Tunde Fasasi was the only Promitheas player to score in double figures with 11 points. The host team dropped to 0-2 in the tournament.
U18 Helsinki Basketball Academy 60-85 U18 Stellazzurra Rome
U18 Stellazzurra Rome booked its spot in the first place game of the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Patras after knocking off debutant U18 Helsinki Basketball Academy 60-85 in Group B. Stellazzurra led by 21 points already in the first quarter en route to improving to 2-0 in the group. Lucas Fresno led the way with 23 points for the Italian side which reached the ANGT Championship Game in 2018. Matteo Visintin picked up 22 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals, Emmanuel Innocenti tallied 16 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and Fabrizio Pugliatti added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Ville Karhu collected 15 points for Helsinki, which dropped to 1-1 in the group. Miro Little added 14 points and 6 rebounds.
U18 Olympiacos Piraeus 72-78 U18 ZPA Tbilisi
U18 ZPA Tbilisi made history at the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Patras as the debutant knocked off U18 Olympiacos Piraeus 72-78 to grab its first victory in the competition. In a game full of runs, Tbilisi took control with 15 straight points in the fourth quarter to finish Group A with a 1-2 record and will play for fifth place on Sunday. Luka Alavidze paced the Georgian team with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 10 fouls drawn for an index rating of 28. Frederiks Meinarts scored 20 points and Vache Gegeshidze chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. Olympiacos dropped to 0-3 and will fight for seventh place. Michael Sprintzios was the team’s leading scorer with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Sarantos Sarantopoulos had 12 points.
U18 FC Barcelona 79-85 U18 Maccabi Tel Aviv
U18 Maccabi Tel Aviv surprised U18 FC Barcelona 79-85 to lock up its spot in the first place game of the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Patras. Maccabi allowed just 8 points in the second quarter and took the third quarter 21-33 to finish Group A with a perfect 3-0 record. Next up is a date against U18 Stellazzurra Rome on Sunday with a trip to the ANGT Finals at stake. Tomer Agmon paced Maccabi with 19 points, Shachar Doron scored 17 points, Ido Menchel had 14 and Ofri Naveh picked up 11 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Martin Iglesia tallied 28 points and 13 rebounds for the 2016 continental champion Barcelona, which will play for third place after finishing with a 2-1 record in Group A. Dayan Nessah scored 14 points and Rafa Villar added 12 points, 7 assists and 4 steals.

U18 Stellazzurra Rome finished off group play at the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Patras with a perfect record after racing away from host side U18 Promitheas Patras 49-73. Stellazzurra, which had already before the game secured the top spot in Group B and an appearance in Sunday’s first place game, allowed just 18 points in the second half to move to 3-0. Matteo Visintin led the Italian side with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and Fabrizio Pugliatti had 14 points. Promitheas dropped to 0-3 in the group and will play for seventh place. U18 Next Generation Team Patras survived a double-overtime thriller against debutant U18 Helsinki Basketball Academy 103-101 to secure its second victory at the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Patras. NGP finished Group B play with a 2-1 record and will take on U18 FC Barcelona on Sunday for third place in the event. Pacome Dadiet scored 27 points to lead the winners while Illan Pietrus had 25 points and 5 assists, Alexandros Samontourov collected 18 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks and Peteris Pinnis chipped in 11 points in the win. NGP Helsinki took the third spot in the group and will play against U18 ZPA Tbilisi on Sunday for fifth place. Miro Little poured in 37 points to go with 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 15 fouls drawn for a PIR of 30 for Helsinki. Eemeli Yalaho had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Okku Federiko scored 17 points and Viljami Vartiainen scored 14 points.
