Jan Vide of U18 Real Madrid was named Most Valuable Player of the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals for helping the team win the 2023 continental title - the club’s record fourth crown.
Vide scored a game-high 19 points to go with 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals for an index rating of 25 in Real’s 71-60 win over U18 Next Generation Select Team in the ANGT Championship Game. It was the second time Vide won the ANGT trophy after 2021. For the tournament, the Slovenian guard averaged 21.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals for an average PIR of 21.3.
Joining Vide on the All-Tournament Team were Mouhamed Faye from NGS Team, U18 FC Barcelona’s Kasparas Jakucionis, Nikola Topic of U18 Crvena Zvezda Belgrade and Bogoljub Markovic of U18 Mega MIS Belgrade.
Faye was limited to 10 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block for a PIR of 3 in the ANGT Championship Game. The Senegalese big man was dominant in the tournament though, averaging 19.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks for an average PIR of 28.0.
Jakucionis was extra motivated coming back to his home country Lithuania and he averaged 17.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals for an average index rating of 20.3. Topic was outstanding in three games with 30.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 9.7 fouls drawn for a PIR of 39.3. And Markovic collected 16.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks for a PIR of 22.7.
